"No Service" After Ultrasn0w
I just bought a 3g off Craigslist that had "connection issues"
When I got the phone, it was Jailbroken, and Ultrasn0w was already installed. Yet I still got "No Service". (i'm using tmobile btw)
This is what I tried:
1. Restored firmware to 3.0,which is what it was running when I got it
2. Jailbroke with Redsn0w
3. Reinstalled Ultrasn0w via Cydia
Still I get a "No Service" message.
I've tried airplane mode off and on, 3g off, rebooting, etc.
Faulty hardware?

Could it be IMEI blacklisted?

That crossed my mind but I don't know the specifics of how that works. Would I have to call AT&T to find that out?
When I got the phone home, it DID get reception...just dropped every 5 seconds. But T-Mobile WAS recognized.
After I re-jailbroke/unlocked it is when I got the "No Service" message.
This is my 11th hour on this.I've scoured the net and tried downgrading the firmware and baseband and that gave the same result. Weird.
Thanks for replying.

UPDATE:
Left SIM in phone for an hour, all sudden I get full bars, and phone is working fine.
Will update again cause I'm not confident this will stick.

UPDATE 2:
Back to "No Service"
I love it.

For anyone following this/who has a similar issue with "No Service" after unlock:
I AM getting a connection now and can make/receive calls...but once I reboot my phone, it takes the SIM about 20 solid minutes before it's recognized. After that 20 min, everything is normal, but if I reboot again...same thing, another 20 min I have to wait.
Weird but I guess it technically works. So, if you're having "No Service" try putting in the SIM, then leave the phone on for 20-30 min. Make sure not to mess with airplane mode or take the sim out during those 20-30 min. My phone needed that entire amount of time to recognize the SIM.

Put the SIM in another phone (not iPhone) for a while, make calls, send sms. Then transfer it back to iPhone
If that does not work, request a new SIM from your carrier. Sometimes that can fix things.

Have you tried GeoHotz's blacksn0w on your iPhone 3G?
