My friend told me to install ultrasn0w to unlock the device.. Which I did, before finding out on the net that it doesn't support my baseband..
Now, since I've done that (I've now uninstalled ultrasn0w, I've got "No service" all the time, and I'm using an o2 sim card at the moment, in an o2 locked phone...
Seems to have messed up my carrier all together, so how can I get it back?!

You haven't really given enough details. My guess is that you have also "hacktivated" the iPhone. Redsn0w has an advanced option to "deactivate" - then iTunes can activate as normal - with your o2 sim card (assuming you have first fully removed ultrasn0w and restarted the iPhone)

o2 in the UK will authorise "official" unlocking - you need to contact them and find out if you meet their pre-requisites for this. That is your best option.

I don't recommend the only other option available to you (install the iPad baseband to get ultrasn0w unlock working). Too many negatives associated with this.

None of your issues are new/unique. We have hundreds of duplicate threads and yours is yet another where the "search before posting" recommendation has been ignored.
