    What Carrier do you have?
Since when do you have the phone?
What iOS Version so you have?

Doesn't matter what version of iOS or how long you've had the phone, unfortunately -- 04.11.08 cannot be unlocked by ultrasn0w or by using a gevey SIM. The baseband blocks gevey SIMs from functioning and you cannot downgrade from 04.11.08 via any known method currently. The only choice to unlock would be contacting the carrier and seeing if they offer a payment subsidized unlock, where you pay them the remaining value of the phone or contract and then they unlock. If this is an AT&T phone, you're out of luck -- they will not authorize an unlock under any circumstance.

Well, it does matter how long he's got his phone, for example if he have T-Mobile as Carrier, 2 years have to past till he can unlock officially
