I have a 3gs with new boot rom stuck in dfu mode cause my phone ran out of battery. I was on 4.0 with my shsh stored. My friend unlocked it for me using ultrasn0w. Can someone pls help me get out of dfu mode? I tried restoring to 4.0 itunes give me error 3194. Pls help!!!!!!

Is it cause im using itunes 10?

iTunes 10 is not the problem.

You should use tiny umbrella to troubleshoot SHSH problems.

Tinyumbrella can confirm that you really do have a 4.0 SHSH ( i trust you when you say that you do have this - but part of troubleshooting is isolating the problem and eliminating things that are ok.)
TimyUmbrella can also set your hosts file correctly to either redirect gs.apple.com to cydia or to tinyumbrella's own TSS server.

Before my battery died i was on cydia. And top of cydia it says shsh os 4.0.1 or something like that in green. I still cant restore software. How can i boot it back out of this thethered jailbreak? Is there any way?

Use TinyUmbrella The Firmware Umbrella

1. Download, (on OS X be sure to copy it to your Applications folder).
2. Connect your iPhone (shut down iTunes if it is running)
3. Run TinyUmbrella
4. Tick the "advanced options" checkbox
5. Where it says "request version", change this to iPhone 3GS 4.0
6. Make sure "request from" is set to Cydia (this is the default)
7. Click "save my SHSH"
   
   If the log says
   SHSH SUCCESSFULLY saved! [Click Here to Open] 10/07/2010 11:03:57.219 You have saved your SHSH locally and the request was sent to CYDIA. This means that CYDIA DOES have your SHSH. Do NOT bug semaphore about the Cydia home page showing this version.
   Then Cydia has 4.0 SHSH for your iPhone.
   
   If not - try again for 4.0.1 or 4.0.2 (or 3.1.3)
   
8. Once you work out which iOS version you have a SHSH for - download the 3GS IPSW for that version from http://www.hackint0sh.org/f127/22056.htm
   
9. Click "start TSS server" in tinyUmbrella - start iTunes and shift-click (option-click on OS X) restore, browse to the IPSW you have downloaded and let it restore.

If this doesn't work, the details of your TinyUmbrella log will help.

Im in the restore mode..... Where it shows the usb and itunes sign....when i run tinyumbrella like u said, the "save my shsh" isnt able to be clicked, its gray

Got it, when i looked on cydia using the method u showed me and chose 3gs 4.0.1 from the drop down list and clicked save my shsh, it showed as 3g 4.0.1. Then i used the tss server closed itunes reopened itunes to restore to 3g 4.0.1 software it says firmware incompatible. When i chose 3gs 4.0.1 firmware it says apples server cant be connected

I just downgraded to itunes 9.2 and used tss server on tinyumbrella. Now it shows error code 3002 on itunes when i tried restore to 3gs 4.0.1 but when i try 3g it still shows inconpatible firmware

You have a 3GS - don't ever try and use firmware for another model like a 3G. It could really screw up your phone.

error 3002 can mean a few things..

1. Something is mis-configured with your redirection of gs.apple.com (that should be handled automatically by TinyUmbrella when you click "Start TSS Server")
2. Selecting "upgrade" in iTunes rather than "restore" when using TinyUmbrella or Cydia to redirect gs.apple.com. The instructions I gave were clear that you should use "restore"

Also, I did say that iTunes 10 wasn't the problem - so why did you downgrade to iTunes 9.2 (which should also work, but that's not the point - it's simpler to provide support for you if you follow the instructions)
