Im a little confused as Apple recently announced that the wifi dropout is a problem with OS 3.0 and due to this the Dev Team (Musclenerd) has announce the problem is not ultrasn0w hence not working on a fix.

Does the above work after switching iphone on & off etc?

My 3GS is on the way so im intrigued if this is a 100% fix or temporary like people who have to reset network setting after each reboot. Would love to know more detail about Ultrasn0w FIXED before my phone arrives etc!
The actual 3G hardware has a bit of a problem on OS 3.0 where it they WiFi detection is not as sensitive so to speak, for example the weaker networks won't show and you will probably see 3 out of 6 available networks but it doesn't hinder the functionality or stronger singals. 3GS shouldn't have this problem, supposedly hardware/software match takes care of it.

Now, secondly, the 3GS has wifi detection problem after jailbreak/unlock which can resolved by doing a "reset" (power/home button together for ~12 seconds)
Apparently this Wifi issue can be duplicated by resetting network settings or turning on the airplane mode, if it happens you simply reset your phone again.. at least for now anyways.

there isn't any ultrasn0w "fixed" file.
    per MuscleNerd
a wifi fail every 2 min or less would be ultrasn0w interaction. failure to see network at all is the 1-time network setting reset
Also there is an article on Apple KB Unable to use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth with iPhone or iPod touch because there's no address listed for the device.
Per MuscleNerd "Glad we didn't try to fix what turns out to be an Apple bug! "

But this thread is about downloading a Ultrasnow Fixed tool hence somebody has modified something unofficially??

Per MuscleNerd "Glad we didn't try to fix what turns out to be an Apple bug!
I read this too however today ultrasn0w 0.9 released and musclenerd claims it fixes wifi & carrier dropouts so I guess the dev team have gone back on this statement and there indeed was bugs if this thing now resolves everything

    Default iphone 3gs reset question

Doesn't the above reset clear all jailbroken data, and reset to factory settings. Thus you have to re-jailbrake, and unlock?

No... you need to erase content and settings to get to the point where you must restore, re-jailbreak and unlock.

Reset network settings does not require a restore afterwards.
