You mention it's an unlocked 4.1, did you upgrade to 4.1 and unlock with ultrasn0w? If so, when you upgraded to 4.1, did you set the phone up from a backup of the phone on a previous firmware? Or did you elect to set it up as a new phone?

This is one of the key causes of usage problems such of this. It's possible there's a physical battery malfunction, but before taking it back to Apple I would do a back up of your important data, wipe the device entirely, restore 4.1 (using the SHSH trick to keep your 4.0.2 or prior baseband), set the phone up as a new phone, and test. If that fixes it, jailbreak and unlock, then test again. If it's still fine, use SSH to re-copy your SMS/Call History databases, etc., and you'll have almost all of the important data back on the phone without any of the battery life issues.

    Good luck!
