    Default 3GS 4.3.3 [6.15.0] "Call Failed" etc

    Hi there,

I have a iPhone 3GS which is running 4.1 and the iPad BB, 6.15 and the new iBoot. I have jailbroken with RedSnow 0.9.6RC165 and installed Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 from repo666. The phone is refusing to pick up the network, showing either "Call failed", "No Service" or sometimes, "Waiting for activation". This is similar to many others by the seems of things, and I have tried following a bunch of things, including:

    a) Use custom 4.1 IPSW built with SnowBreeze and hacktivate - boots but same problem
    b) Download and use 4.1 IPSW built with Pwnage [I dont have access to a Mac] - boots but same problem
    c) As a) but dont hacktivate, instead use SAM - boots but same problem
    d) Boot and toggle airplane mode, 3G, Location on or off - same problem
    e) Try other "version" of ultrasn0w from different repos - same problem
    f) Upgrade to 4.3.3 custom - will only boot teathered, and then network still doesn't work
    g) As e, but 4.2.1 - same issue

    I have full blobs in Tiny for 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1, 4.3.5 and partial for 4.2.1.

The iPhone is second hand and I have no idea to what network it was originally locked. I am based in the UK.

Does anyone have any other ideas? This is driving me nuts!

    Thanks

It's likely been recently IMEI blacklisted by the original carrier. The UK carriers are very fond of IMEI blacklisting. Your symptoms *mostly* fit what I would expect for an IMEI blacklisted phone (the exact behaviour in the UK can vary depending on which carrier's SIM you try and use - some will allow you to browse the net via 3G, none will allow outgoing calls)

    Thanks for the reply, Olethros.

What you say seems to be true. I have borrowed a few SIMs from friends for the 4 main UK networks and on 3 of them, 3G works, but the other 2, it doesn't. Sadly, calls don't work on any of them.

I guess I'm stuff then unless I can convince the networks to remove the block?
