As I mentioned earlier - windows users are stuck with the unathorised/unofficial sn0wbreeze - this is the closest that windows gets to Pwnagetool. Sn0wbreeze generally works and mostly offers the same features as pwnagetool. Sn0wbreeze will never be supported or recommended by the moderators on this forum - mostly because the author has demonstrated repeatedly that they are not entirely trustworthy or truthful.

The other options for windows users are to download pre-made custom IPSW from the internet. The rules of hackint0sh forum state we can't link to such pre-made custom IPSW as they are considered warez when they are shared.

I have an identically spec'd iphone as you and am on windows. I too am trying to figure out the safest way to get myself from 3.0 to 3.1.2. Please post your results here good or bad once you decide what you are going to do.
