I seem to be the only person following this thread but I'll try to help what I can. I'm not an authority on HP laptops and certainly not for AMD processors. In my opinion, you'd be better of getting a Dell or any laptop for that matter that has the Intel processor, it seems success is greater with one of those than with AMD. And I did get it to run on an HP laptop that I had but in my experience, the keyboard didn't work and the trackpad didn't either. Sleep never works properly. The versions I had the best luck with were the iDeneb versions, seems those guys have their stuff together in a pile when it comes to OSX.
For your Disk Utility problem, I'd say it was a Kext issue. A Kext issue in the base install disk you're using, where whatever Kext for the disk controller in your laptop just isn't installed in that disk. There are ways to put that Kext into your install disk but you'll have to search this and other forums for the required info, I don't know how to tell you to do it, step by step. But I have seen the threads somewhere and it was an issue I had as well. I said to hell with it and I just kept downloading other versions of it until I found one that worked for me.
For your loading screen hang up, I'd say you need to boot into verbose mode. You need to see what it's hanging on and it'll tell you. Again, research your version and bootloader so you'll know how to enter into different modes, it's a must-know so you can diagnose your problems. I certainly can't just tell you what the problem is and neither can any other member here unless somebody has an error message or code or whatever.
Have you got it to load up to the desktop yet or are you saying it just hangs at the loading screen and never loads?
