Hi, thanx for this great guide, it helped me a lot to get my nb200 on SL!

I stopped step 13 because VoodooHDA wont work and I do not run the update to 10.6.1 and I have a fully working Leopard on my Toshiba!

-Do I have to do the step 15 - 17 if I do not the update?
- Iwork 09 (and 08!) wont work and I read that it is a problem of Quartz Extreme and Core Image and I don't have this information on my system profiler. Is it working for you?
- Only the Dell 1510 wifi card working or the broadloom to?

First I would like to thank you guys for the great work!
I have a toshiba nb200 since fiew weeks and I desided to install a triple boot(XP, Linux and Max OS).
After some trials I finaly gat SL 10.6.1 working thanks to your installing guide.

Every thing works fine except Bluetooth and WiFi!
In one post I found that Bluetooth should works using some archives but I do not know which packages or extensions ???
Can anyone help me?

i got the bluetooth to work once but i have way to many kexts. I am going to reinstall and try again, and i got my dell 1510 wifi card today so i am going to give it all a try

i re installed snow leopard and i cant get it to recognize my dell 1510 wifi card?? any thoughts??

I just followed noxin's(great job!) guide and its working great, only 1 prob which is there is no sound, i noticed before i had finished following the guide there was sound, so one of the steps must of disabled it? But otherwise its working great, besides the native wifi wont work but not much we can do about that at the moment.

EDIT: Also tap to click and touch pad scrolling isn't working.

EDIT 2: Ok got sound working but when i was trying to get tap to click etc to work i ended up making both keyboard and trackpad stop working 100%, im using a USB Mouse atm.

EDIT 3: All working now =D, to get mouse etc to work i just installed the voodoops2 kext and done a reg fix for the sound.

ok so i have 10.6.1 installed on my Toshiba NB205-N311/W. I have already upgraded the wireless for under $30 on ebay "dw1510". everything is working except the following.

Sound Crackles after Sleep
sound and bluetooth never work at the same time. "bluetooth does work though"
touchpad does not have tap to click or scrolling. "alps touchpad"

i have been working on getting this to work as best as i can and now i think i hit a brick wall. just wondering if there are any kext's anyone has tried that work better than some of the ones included in noxins tutorial.
BTW thanks noxin for such a great tutorial!

I got the sound to work again by running "sudo /pfix" again and then repairing disk permissions in disk utility.

After a lot of trial and error, I have figured out how to get photobooth working with the built in webcam without having to open camtwist each time and I have fixed the audio after sleep. This will be a very long post and I hope I don't sound to long winded but let's get to it:

Photobooth:
1) Download camtwist if you haven't already and install it.

2) Open camtwist and select webcam under step 1:

3) Then go to the very right to the drop down menu and make sure "USB2.0 UVC Webcam" is selected

4) Under step 3: make sure the check box next to webcam is selected

5) Hightlight webcam and click the "save setup" button

6) Once you have named the setup and saved it make sure it is highlighted and click select at the very bottom under step 3:

7) Now click the "autoload" button and make sure the the font for you setup is now BOLD (it should look like the image below)


8) Now open up automator from your applications folder

9) Choose new workflow

10) Now select "launch application" from the middle list and from the drop down menu select photobooth

11) Next drag over "launch application" again and navigate to camtwist from your drop down menu

12) Then drag over "quit application" and again navigate to camtwist (it will look like this when you are finished)


13) Finally save your new workflow but select application as your format

- This workflow opens photobooth and then cam twist so that the drivers load and proceeds to close camtwist. Now instead of having to open them both by hand, launch the new application we just made and you are good to go.

Sound after wake:
1) Download sleepwatcher (search for it on google) and install both packages in the .dmg

2) Now reboot your computer (this is necessary for the correct files to be created)

3) Launch terminal

4) type "cd /etc"

5) type "sudo vi rc.wakeup"

6) enter your password

7) While holding shift press G

8) Press esc then i

9) Use the arrow keys to move the cursor past the end of done and hit enter 2 times

10) Now copy and paste the following to the end of the file:

/sbin/kextunload /Extra/CustomExtensions/VoodooHDA.kext>>/var/log/system.log
/sbin/kextunload /Extra/CustomExtensions/VoodooHDA.kext>>/var/log/system.log
/sbin/kextunload /Extra/CustomExtensions/VoodooHDA.kext>>/var/log/system.log
/sbin/kextunload /Extra/CustomExtensions/VoodooHDA.kext>>/var/log/system.log
sleep 3
/sbin/kextload /Extra/CustomExtensions/VoodooHDA.kext>>/var/log/system.log
/sbin/kextload /Extra/CustomExtensions/VoodooHDA.kext>>/var/log/system.log
/sbin/kextload /Extra/CustomExtensions/VoodooHDA.kext>>/var/log/system.log
/sbin/kextload /Extra/CustomExtensions/VoodooHDA.kext>>/var/log/system.log

11) Press esc (the end of your file should look something like this)


12) Hold shift and type wq

13) Type wq again and hit enter

14) You can now close terminal

15) Finally navigate to /System/Library/Extensions and delete appleHDA.kext (you may want to make a backup copy somewhere just in case)

16) It may require a restart for everything to take effect but i can't remember if I had to or not.

- Basically what this program is doing is watching your sleep kernel. When it sees that the kernel has waken from sleep, it will unload and then reload the VoodooHDA.kext from the system which is what fixes the sound issue.

- You can now put your nb205 to sleep and when it wakes you will still have crystal clear sound! This is the one thing that was almost a deal breaker for me so it is nice to finally have it fixed. I tried to make these steps as easy to follow as I could but if you have any questions feel free to PM me. If you follow this guide post back a response good or bad.
