    Default Can’t load kext net.osrom.kext.Disabler

When I try to boot os X, I am getting an error:
Can’t load kext net.osrom.kext.Disabler – failed to resolve library dependencies.
    Kext net.osrom.kext.Disablerfailed to load…

    Any thoughts?

Installed Snow few days ago and runs very smoothly, except for the shutdown.
The lights on the case and keyboard remain on, anybody knows how to fix this?

I had the same problem with Leo on this HP

    Default Thanks and a question...

    Hi,

First of all I wanted to say thanks for the guide, it worked like a charm, so easy! I had a working 10.5.3 version on another HD which was much harder to install. The installation was made on a Pavilion a6338.es so if there´s other people looking for a guide that works for this machine, this one will do the trick!
    I have a question though:
can I update it normally via apple software update in this version?

    Thanks again and best regards.

my advice is ALWAYS make a clone of your working OS to another partition with SuperDuper before you play with updates and/or kexts

I had absolutely no problems with 10.6.1, and just to be sure I deleted AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement before rebooting to 10.6.2

no, I downloaded the 10.6.1, and tested for a while
then cloned the partition, and downloaded the 10.6.2 combo

    Default simple question??

I'm trying to replace the OSInstall.mpkg file, with the modded one you provide but I do not know how to change the permissions of the "Package" folder in order to replace the file on the snow leopard mounted DMG file.

try from terminal, with sudo -s
cp -R /file/ /location/ (you can also do drag and drop file and location folder for semplicity)

    Troglos,

Thanks for the help, but I'm not too familiar with using terminal, how exactly can I change the permissions on the mounted DMG file of the snow leopard DVD?

    /Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg

If i simply drag and drop the modified osinstall.mpkg it says the enclosing folder "packages" cannot be modified. If i need to use terminal what exactly do I have to type in.

    thanks!!!

Default Moving here from the Leopard 10.5.x How to install Leopard on HP Pavilion Elite Deskt

Moving here from the Leopard version of this thread. Quick update...
Updated my Bios to Kabyl's 5.23 on my
    HP Pavilion m9250f
    Upgraded to Q9450 proc
Upgraded to GeForce 8800 GT (9800 GTX+ waiting for next in)
Using Universal OSX Snow leopard GM432 from torrent
Installed with nothing else, 1 partition on 500GB HD using GUID ** NOTICE - Do NOT NOT NOT forget the steps "cd /" ; and "sh MakeDSDT DRIVENAME"
--You set up your drive in the Drive Utility, apply settings then open terminal and cd / then sh MakeDSDT DRIVENAMEHERE
--If you forget the MakeDSDT step you will reboot and hang (non KP) at the following message
--"dsmos: this software(dsmos.kext) is freeware, if you have bought it, report at netkas.org"

Followed 1 step in your page 1 guide = download EFIStudio and selected 8800 GT graphic card then clicked Add to PLIST button. Did NOT use the guide instructions to open my plist manually and add code or whatever. Just did the button and it works perfectly. Had to change NETWORK Settings to 10Mbit Full-Duplex (System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Ethernet > Manually 10baseT/UTP full-duplex) and now have Video and NIC working great. Now i just need to get AUDIO. I will be doing a smidge more research before blindly installing kexts untill shit works, so hopefully i either figure it out or you prevent me from euthanizing my SL install. tits
