(HOW TO) Install Snow Leopard on HP DV7T Core i7 processor
Hello there,
First you need to download and burn "Empire EFI" for i7. Once you burned the CD, insect it and start up your computer and just follow the prompt. (If you're planning to install a dual boot, start with Snow leopard OS first)

Press f5 after inserting "Snow Leopard Retail copy".

1. Click on Utilities on the tool bar, then select Disk Utilities.
2. On the left you should see your hard drive.
3. If not, a disk is not connected or cannot be read by your computer.
4. After selecting your hard drive click on Partition.
5. Under Volume Scheme, click current and select 1 partition.
6. Under Volume Information, name your hard drive.
7. Format: Free Space
8. Click Apply
9. Click Partition
10. After selecting your hard drive click on Partition.
11. Under Volume Scheme, click current and select 1 partition.
12. Under Volume Information, name your hard drive.
13. Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
14. At the bottom of the window Click on the Options Button.
15. Select the GUID Partition Table
16. Click OK
17. Click Apply
18. Click Partition
19. Quit Disk Utilities

After that reboot using "Empire EFI' CD and Select your Mac OS disk.

after that Select: Your keyboard, then Select, Do not transfer my information now, then If, you have an Apple ID enter it now.
next window:Enter your Registration Information.
Next: Select if you want to try MobileMe Free.
Next: select your region
and That's it....Finish!
Now here is a little tricky, so bear with me.
I did not install: Chameleon bootloader after the installation because I got KP after rebooting, neither the "Extra Folder" but is up to you, your choice.
First thing you need to do is to upgrade from 10.6.0 to 10.6.3 I downloaded it from apple's web site (The combo one) and I storage on a portable hard. After the system finish upgrading reboot it. then install/replace the following files to get ce qi working. (I extracted them from MBP update)
These files/kext are working fine on NVidia GeForce GT 320m/330m
System/Library/Display,Extensions,Frameworks,Graphics,PrivateFram ework (You can download them from my blog) after finish replacing those files clean kext cache, and repair permission and reboot.
Next, Install "ATI ATY_init.kext" modify (remember to use Kexthelper or other program to install it) and repair permissions and reboot. after that you're all set.
Here's what is working:
mouse and trackpad work out of the box.
all the USB port work out of the box
Bluetooth Work out of the box
WebCam work out of the box
Sound work Perfect with VoodooHDA-0.2.61. (0.2.2 works horrible)
CD/DVD works fine.
Firewire work out of the box
HDMI port work fine
Ethernet works using RealtekR1000.kext
IEEE 1934 Controllers work out of the box
all PCI work out the box
Battery (Icon) work out of the box
What is not working (so far)
Wireless (DV7t) (VAIO - The atheros works but drop signal)
Card reader (some people had fixed it using "VoodooSDHC.kext or IOSDHCIBlockDevice.kext" not in my case)
Here is the resolution that I got so far and ce qi works fine.

As we all know that these is a work in progress and if you manage to fix one of these issues, you can share with those who still have the same issue.
I have posted on my blog a video showing ce qi working on i7 processor.

I'm working on it but those that I tried won't work with Ricoh SD CPRM Memory Card Reader/Writer Driver (VPCF11NFX/H)
have you try anything to fix it?

Great tutorial! One thing, where can I download the files from your blog for the System/Library/Display,Extensions,Frameworks,Graphics,PrivateFram ework?
Also, do you have this working with a geforce 230m card? I see in your tag line that you have the 230m 1gb card, but these instructions all reference the 320m and 330m.
Thanks!
