To my understanding the latest version is "EP45UD3P OSx86 v3" which comes included with EFI 10.5. This is an updated version compared to the Lifehacker link which is "EP45-UD3P Snow Leopard" EFI 10.1. I downloaded cobo's Hackintosh.zip file to see what version is included and it looks like both of them are in there. Have you given v3 a try?

I did use v3. I believe my issue may be that my board is not the same as listed. My board is 3L

    Dang.. good to know.
But here is the EP45-UD3L board being used with EP45UD3P OSx86 v3... Or it could be the original EP45UD3P installer with EFI 10.1, I'm not sure.
    YouTube - Lifehackers hackintosh overview

He has another tutorial which installs EP45UD3P OSx86 v3 onto the thumb drive but I believe he is using a slightly different motherboard for that one..

Which sound card are you going with for the EP45-UD3L board?

Sound isn't that important on my computer so I'm going to try using on board sound. If not, this board Newegg.com - SABRENT SBT-SP6C 5.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card

You got it working? Sound and everything too?
How did you get EP45-UD3L to load the SL thumb drive?

Still tweaking....no sound yet. Installed by COBOs instructions, but follow each step exactly. I skipped the items in the bios that did not match his bios.
I was not paying attention to the details in the pics in COBOs download file.

Ahh ok Sweet!!! Did you go with v3 of the UD3P installer or the original installer?

Is there anything else that needs tweaking with your copy of Snow Leopard or just the sound?

I guess it's safe to say that the handy auto installer will install onto the UD3L boards as well!!

Its too soon to tell if it is 100%. It is working so far with the v3 package. On board LAN runs and upgraded to 10.6.4 with no problems.

Nice!! Well if it's an Intel Core 2 with virtualization enabled on the CPU and an almost identical motherboard then chances are the UD3L will work just as well as the UD3R. However, maybe I am assuming too much with Hackintosh builds. One small difference can mean the difference between day and night.

If you are able to make the onboard sound work, please do let me know, otherwise I will picking up a cheap sound card along with my order. The SABRENT SBT-SP6C sound card is unavailable on Newegg.ca - Does anybody know of another inexpensive sound card that should do the trick on the UD3L mobo?

    Thanks!
