It looks like this build won't work because OS X is not installed with the tonymacx86 method.

I'll try installing lion today with the tonymacx86 method on a new hard drive - I'll let everyone know how that works out.

I'm not sure I'm doing the replacement correctly for the sound kext. Once I replace it in the folder, I get a host of messages saying something like "the file cannot be used because it was not installed correctly. Reinstall or contact the vendor, yada yada yada. Then I get a bunch more for other seemingly related kexts that now won't work, either. Anybody else having the same issue?

Well, um, I guess I worked through my own problem.I just ran time machine and restored the whole system/library/extensions folder from 10.6.7
No problems so far, and sound is working as before! Yay!

So I'm not sure if anyone still follows this thread... But I'll share my experiences anyways. I just bought a Macbook Airport card and a mini pci-e to pci-e adapter and they work out of box with both Windows and Mac OS X 10.6.7. This new card allows me to connect to my wireless N connection instead of wireless G now. It is much better.

On another note, I am also borrowing a friends hard drive to attempt to do a test install of Mac OS X 10.8. I found out that it is possible with the EP45-UD3R, so I figured I could tweak that guide a bit to work for my board. I will post the update later. If anybody else wants to try it themselves, you can find the guide here. It is the second one from the bottom.
