It looks like your build could work. It would be a different installation method than the one described in this post, but you could make it work. The only thing I'm not sure of is the firewire. What did you mean by the question marks following wifi?

Dude you couldn't use fileserve, hotfile, megaupload.. But you chose a download that requires a CPA offer? Only way to get it is to fill it out and you make money and don't even know if list is worth it.

Exclamation For anyone still following this build...

Unfortunately, you cannot update to 10.6.8 without some kext replacement if you are using this build. There are three problems I have found.

First, the audio does not work anymore. I have not tried yet, but I have heard that you can copy the AppleHDA.kext from "/System/Library/Extensions" from 10.6.7 and paste it into "System/Library/Extensions" in 10.6.8 to get audio working.

Second, the network card doesn't show up as "On" in Network preferences. I'm still doing research on the network card.

Third, the menu bar across the top and the System Preferences app reacted very slowly when clicked on. I imagine that other apps also react slowly.

I will do some research to see if there is a way to fix these last two problems and keep this thread updated.

If anyone has not been able to get their sound working because they don't have a copy of the old appleHDA.kext, then here you go: AppleHDA.kext.zip (it worked for me, but it might not work for you)

Does the OSX Lion update work with this build? Or should I start a fresh install?
    Thanks,

    Thanks,
I am actually about to experiment with that. I don't think the wireless network card will work because it didn't work in 10.6.8, even with the fixed kexts. Other than that, tonymacx86's upgrade method should work. You can find that here.

I tried it and at boot got a message "ERROR: Unable to find SMBIOS"
    any ideas? (it wouldn't continue)

EDIT: perhaps a switch from chameleon to chimera is to blame?

Hmm... How far along in the install did you get? Were you even able to reboot after installing xMove?

xMove refused to install, so I decided to see if maybe it wasn't compatible with chameleon. I installed Chimera, and I couldn't boot into my computer until I booted with a chameleon'd flash drive. I then reinstalled chameleon and have not tried doing anything since.
