Buying a new laptop solely for hackintosh - what to buy for £400?
Hi folks,
Here's the situation. I need a new laptop. I'd love a MacBook but I can't afford one. I bought my wife a MacBook Pro for Christmas and she loves it and so do I (she's been a Mac user for years).
So, I have to buy a Windows laptop and turn it into a Hackintosh. My budget is £400. Having never done the Hackintosh thing before, I need to choose a laptop which will be relatively painless, though I am fairly techy and should be able to follow whatever guide there is.
Any advice on which laptop to buy, gratefully received!

I'm looking for one myself but set myself a higher budget and going for one of the i5 processors, rumour has it that dual cores won't be good enough to run future versions... just a rumour I read but worth considering.
I've found a pretty high spec maybe but i'm not 100% if it will work, I was told a Toshiba Satellite A660-149 all works but they're long discontinued and were replaced by the Toshiba Satellite A660-1DW. This is recently discontinued but still available for around £570 new.
From what I can see the processor speed has been changed but is still 2.4 i5, bluetooth added, and graphics card changed to one i've seen on a spec of a working hackintosh so IN THEORY..... It SHOULD work... I've made a post to find out if anyone has had success with it before committing to the purchase... don't want to buy another fast laptop only to have it weighted down carrying windows and the 4,000,000 driver files.
