Asus U46E with SL 10.6
Hello, everyone
I have attempted to install SL on my new ASUS laptop with limited success. I have tried iBoot from CD but that panics because it can't find ACPI. I have also tried Chameleon and that as well panics because of a CPU compatibility issue (even with Legacy drivers).
I believe my issue is (though take my opinion with a grain of salt) the limited options that the ASUS bios (Aptio verison 205 by AMT) offers me. I do not have the computer handy so I am unable to take pictures of the screens but I can say that I have set the SATA to AHCI and there is no option ANYWHERE in the bios for me to enable ACPI. I am hoping that someone out there will have experience in dealing with a dumbed down bios in order to get this figured out. Thanks in advance.
For what its worth, the specs on the computer are:
i5 - 2410M
8GB DDR2 1333
HM65 chipset
Integrated graphics

I am in the same boat as you... I am able to get Snow Leopard installed on my Asus U46E-BAL5 but I have no support for anything
My goal is to try to upgrade to Lion to get the support for sandy bridge but the Lion installer does not think I have the correct cpu
