Default Sound and Card Reader Question

    Hello Sir and Everyone Else,

Thanks again, everyone who helped with the graphics issue. Patching the OpenGL bundle plus using either Natit.kext or properly-configured EFI strings did the trick.

What about sound with EFI and a patched AppleHDA.kext? The VoodooHDA driver crashes some DJing programs I'm trying to learn. Update: Test of the ALC272 package designed for the NC10 I confirmed not to work again; I tried manually installing the AppleHDA and HDAEnabler kexts; visual indications that the driver loaded, but no sound. Also, dmesg was of no help.

Also, could someone post a link to a guide on how to get the card reader working? Also, I don't believe the CCD/webcam is fully functional under 10.5.7...am I mistaken? Update: of course these both work out of the box, even under 10.5.7, although I've only tested under Voodoo, not vanilla.

Finally, Sir, I was wondering: what is the Synaptics Txxxx reference was in your signature? As far as I can tell the best thing we can do with our touchpads is tap-to-click since under Mac and Linux, the drivers don't properly register multiple fingers since our Synaptics chips are too new. This is not the case under Windows with recent drivers.

Update: Since two of my issues were imaginary, (embarrassing) what about kernels? Ideally I'd like something as close as possible to retail, but that allows for hyper-threading. Should I try the "Intel alpha 3" from the xnu-dev website? If so, which are the matching seatbelt.kext and System.kext drivers? What about enabling the Attansic Ethernet driver, even when a cable is not plugged in at boot?

I don't know how well this thread is followed any more, but I hope my 3G and Bluetooth mods gave me some street cred!

I tried that and I get an exclamation point on the driver in device manager. I am lost. Does anyone know way or app that could show what is wrong with it? IE..missing a dll or something? Also, if there is a more approprite place to post let me know. Thanks!

    Default Thanks, for the Tutorial

Thanks skateni. I was able to get my d150 working like a champ. I changed out the wireless card for a Dell 1390 wireless adapter. The only thing I can not get is QE working for graphics. What can I look at to diagnose the issue. Things have been relatively easy with all the work and advise you guys on the forum provide. This is the first problem that I was unable to solve using the forums or other internet searches.

Some create a search for hackintosh's. I forget who made it but is is a great help. Here is the link. If you know who created this search let me know so I can thank them.

    I NighTalon,

the touchpad is fully functional with multiple finger with this driver "VoodooPS2Controller-0.98-installer.pkg"
probably will need to remove the original drivers (ps2) it must be in conflict with those new package attached, try!

    Chameleon: VoodooPS2Controller

In windows I have not tried the touchpad with multi-fingers, but it provides the driver! download the driver from this link:

    ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/netbook...2.2.0_WHQL.zip

good test! I am sorry for my English!

    sudo kextunload namedriver.kext
    sudo kextload namedriver.kext

on terminal...sorry but i don't remember the syntax!

search on google with the name of the driver!

you can remove the cable and put it back unless you started the pc with the cable connected ... otherwise it does not work if you do not unload / load the driver.

agrees to make a script to be run when you need it.

    I hope to have helped!

    Default Many Thanks!

    Sir,

Your English is actually quite good! Thanks for the update on your success with VoodooPS2, and my oversight in not Googling the Attansic driver.

Two-finger-scroll was working for me under Vista...I did not reconfigure it for Windows 7, but I know that the more recent Synaptics drivers support it.

I recommend an upgrade to 2 GB RAM! Surely OS X will thank you.

Two further questions and then I will stop bothering you:

    1. You say you are using Darwin kernel 9.7.0 via iDeneb 10.5.7 update. Is Hyper-Threading enabled/do you see two cores in Activity Monitor, or are you using the cpus=1 boot flag?

    2. Are you using VoodooHDA for audio? I would prefer something more "native" but perhaps I shouldn't be using MacOS at all then! I would prefer a modified AppleHDA kext and EFI strings!

If anyone would like to bother me about adding Bluetooth and/or 3G, do not hesitate to ask! I am also experienced with doing a retail install.

    Hello NighTalon,

using the original kernel are forced to use the CPUs = 1, otherwise not starts! the difference is minimal compared to the vooodoo with ht!
Only with the voodoo or anv (the best) you can use the HT, with CPUs = 2, or without the string.

You can try the anv kernel:

    iHackintosh Reload! - Download Area - 10.5.7 - iDeneb.Tool.rev1.mpkg - iHackintosh Reload!

if you use the 10.5.7 combo update ideneb you already have all three installed kernel!
You can see it in the root disk (hidden files)
You can select them from a command line to boot.

    ------------------------------------
For audio I use the only driver that works for alc272, is edited and full works .
    It's called VoodooHDA by thireus:

VoodooHDA - Get Microphone and Audio In working on your Hackintosh!

I do not know anybody who has managed to operate with the original driver alc272.
I have a original driver for alc272 but only works with the nc10 Netbook.

If you are able to operate the integrated audio driver alc272 with the original (AppleHDA) I would be happy to try it myself.

    -------------------------------------------------------------
to me everything works except HT (vanilla kernel) but it's normal!, and the sleep!
The sleep is very important on a Netbook, to preserve the battery life.

I can not understand why the sleep is not working! just goes to sleep the system will auto restart again

works well on windows xp on linux ubuntu but not on macosx ... mysteries of Cupertino! :-)

I hoped that by upgrading to the new bios 1.09 change something ... but nothing!

If you have additional questions I am available.

    Hi there

I just followed this guide to install MacOS on my Acer D150. Well, bit success, but at least i didn't kill MBR as i did with other distros ...

Question is: once installed and reboot, i can see in screen boot0: MBR and quickly windows starts.

Doesn't need for a bootloader? Chamaleon or similar? Or... to be short: How do i load MacOS?

    Cheers from Spain!
