    message #6

Somebody has solved the problem of instant reboot after stop (sleep or hibernate)? I use the vanilla kernel 9.7.0, I also updated the bios from 1.05 to 1.08, but nothing to make the problem persists.

Also my acer aspire one D150 has a sound card alc272 I found a driver that is used on samsung nc10 detects everything but nothing works! so I opted for the 0.2.2 beta voodoohda everything works fine except the internal mic is detected but does not work!

Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

Thanks is a good debate :-)

Sorry for my English ... google translate! :-))))

    Default Another Benefit of 10.5.7

Thanks to a post I made on the xnu-dev Google Group, it appears Apple rolled support for Hyper-Threading into the Apple Mach Kernel after seeing it in the Voodoo kernel. So you can all give the vanilla kernel a shot without "cpus=1" or with "cpus=2". That might actually enable hyper-threading without resorting to a hacked kernel.

I ask again: Does anyone want to post a fool-proof 10.5.7 install guide with graphics fully working? No matter whose kexts/drivers I use, I can't get resolution change or acceleration working. I tried the 27ae patcher as well as GFX strings, and all I got was garbage or a blue screen. The only thing I didn't try was the paper-clip/external monitor trick since I don't have a VGA monitor here.

    Default Another Benefit of 10.5.7

... But on the next kernel or the current 10.5.7? because I have tested on CPUs = 2, but does not work!

    Default Hyper-Threading Support in 10.5.7

You're probably right...I don't know why the xnu-dev guy thought HT was fixed in the new kernel. Does anyone know why people with the Dell Mini 9 don't need to use this kernel flag? Is it something in their DellEFI?

Perhaps with a few patches in the bios! .. If apple endorses the Hyper-Threading ... we shall see in 10.5.8 which has just been released to developers.

    Default Hardware/Hack Updates

Will someone please give me a guide on how to upgrade to 10.5.7 without ruining my graphics drivers? Thanks!

    OK, down to business.

    Bluetooth:
I purchased a Broadcom Bluetooth unit on eBay that looks a lot like the ones on the European models. I'm pretty sure I plugged the connector in properly. Anyway, the netbook seemed not to recognize it; I don't know why. I tried installing Acer/Foxconn 6.0 drivers for the chipset under Windows 7, but it said the device wasn't attached. Strange. Maybe the connector came undone while reassembling. I'll have to check.

    3G Modem:
I was overjoyed to learn that uncovering the SIM card hole merely requires removing some electric tape!

I was also overjoyed to learn that in order to reveal the second wireless indicator lamp, you just need to peel off the sticker.

I was also overjoyed that I was able to use an Xacto with break-away blades to slice off one end of the wireless switch to allow it to shift both ways. I heated up the blade with a soldering iron, but I don't think that really helped much. The plastic is pretty soft anyway. Note that I figured this out thanks to tnkgrl's blog on how she added 3G to the 9" model.

Since my ML Electronics SIM card reader is still coming in the mail, I figured I'd test the second slot with a second WIFI card I had lying around. I also added 3 additional WIFI antennas to the screen portion for a total of 5. (3 for WIFI-n, 2 for 3G+GPS on the same Sierra Wireless 3G card) However, the ends were far too long, and I don't know how to crimp cables so small. In the end reception was shit, and I'm not sure why, but the cables were all wound up and jammed under the WIFI hatch. I hope I didn't short one of the antenna leads.

Anyway, the secondary card didn't register, even when I slid the switch left. Whoever reported that the secondary MiniPCI-E card slot isn't powered, you were right. I wonder if taping pin 20 will have any effect: I did not try it.

I'll have to learn to crimp cables to solve my first problem. I'll have to consult tnkgrl (Myriam from SF) on how to figure out which "bridge" to solder. I may also have to learn to use a multimeter.

I may give up and get one of the new Ion OCZ Neutrinos, or the 3G-enabled HP 1150. I'd get the Acer 3G-enabled one on Amazon, but I think its RAM maxes at 1.5 GB and it may also have the cruddy GN40 graphics chipset. The Dells can't be bought without contract. The HP should allow an upgrade to a higher-res screen and a 6-cell battery. There are also NC10s with 3G available on eBay from the UK (overpriced) and Germany. Just don't bid when I'm bidding, please!

I repeat the same request as at the top: will someone please post a guide on how to update from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 so that graphics don't get screwy? Thanks!

    For AOD150 to 10.5.7:
I used the iDeneb 10.5.7 package to update. Before reboot I used the included tool to install 10.5.7 keyboard fix, set Voodoo kernel as default (or read the included details for choosing which kernel at boot) and added the listed Chameleon. Reboot into safe mode and installed 10.5.7 GMA950 kexts and EFI (see included info) using OSX86Tools. While in OSX86Tools added cpus=2 bootfalg also. Replaced keyboard PrefPane for trackpad tapping and reboot. Software update shows all updates applied, system info shows QE supported (and enabled through OSX86Tools).

EDIT - I forgot to mention I also had to reinstall the seatbelt fix for the Voodoo kernel otherwise it would panic when mounting a DMG.

you need a guide ...man I thought you are a pro anyway I updated using Apple's software update ..and it will boot with the vanilla kernel so you need to boot with cpus=1 and then you will get the yucky resolution .. use this to get back the 1024x600 resolution

I used the same video drivers (linked in my post above) but the iDeneb 10.5.7 update package installs and lets you choose Vanilla, Voodoo or Anv kernels at boot (or as default) if that is appealing to anyone.
