Is there a way to get Quartz Extreme working on 10.6.3 running in vmware?

I'm running Snow Leopard in VMware Workstation 7.0.0 build-203739 on Windows 7. I have a Sony Vaio F115FM that has a Nvidia Geforce 330m 1gb graphics
I'm trying to get imovie to work for a school project but get the error message
"Quartz Extreme Required. iMovie requires a graphics card that is compatible with Quartz Extreme. One or more of your graphics cards does not support Quartz Extreme."

Otherwise Everything else works great: Nic, sound, vmware tools, itunes, iphoto, idvd.
I even updated 10.6.2, and imovie from apple.

    Default Managing expectations . . .

Hey all, I'm wondering if what I've got working is the best I can possibly do for 10.6.4. I've read everything I can on the subject, and my head will explode if I don't get some community feedback on what could be a best case scenario, even though I'm still pretty limited.

    The Good:
CPU: Seems to detect 4 (virtual) cores, which is what I have in real life so I figured why not. It detects the correct speed. Seems fast enough, more than good enough to work.
Network: Bridged, working great, though I'm having some weird issues with AFP and Airfoil those could easily be user error.
VMware Tools: Pretty decent! I got copy and paste and sharing working!

    The Not-So Good:
Audio: Completely unusable. Everything is a slow, garbled mess, either through the AC97 driver or through Airfoil.
Video: Only software mode stuff works. No VLC, no youtube. Even the most basic graphical animations move at no more than 5 frames per second.
Memory: Seems stuck at "1 GB DRAM". Increasing in VMWare doesn't increase it.

Not show stoppers, but can I improve upon any of the above? Thanks a billion in advance for answering.
