    has anyone got any ideas about how to duplicate my vmware drive to physical removable 160gb usb HDD. I bought a copy of superduper, it claimed it was going to make my drive bootable at the end of the process apparently now this didnt work I found There was a difference in the number of files on drive i.e. /System/....... /Extensions

    so i added a custom script trying to copy the differences. Still didnt work

    The device is mounted as a scsi device.

    I've formatted the Drive as HFS Journalled, rebooted installed PC EFI v5 sucessfully.

    rebooted

    Then tried installing the following images

    kalyway 10.5.2
    jas 10.5.2
    jas 10.5.4

    specifying the new device path rd=/dev/disk1s1

    the same device path i installed pc efi version 5 to.

    I either get a message specifying that the processor has been disabled by the guest OS or the drive cannot be located. Depending which version i use.

    Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated I have a copy of jas 10.4.8 but reluctant to try it after buying a legit copy of osx so i was within license and the main reason for using osx is the iphone sdk which cost me $99 to register for the connectivity extentions for developing directly to an iphone device.

    Ok edit, the vmware setting file ".vmx",

    locate the line

    ethernet0.virtualDev = "vlance"

    and edit it to

    ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000"

    boot osx, if your lucky you network may show as active straight away.

    if not go into settings --> network add a new network device it should prompt you a new device has been added.

    if you router did not assign a dhcp address automatically

    go into terminal and type

    ipconfig set enX DHCP

    replace x with you network interface i.e. en0, en1, en2

    my router assigned a address by its mac address even though the card never shows as active.

    also in the advance setting. change the card 100base-t, full duplex. and set the workgroup name to same as you windows domain or workgroup.

    I found it helpful to clone the virtual machine also which assigns a new valid mac address do this before editing the vmware settings file, also helpful when attempting an upgrade to keep a clone in case of failiure.

    you can connect devices exclusively to your vmware virtual machine, add a usb port to the configuration, I can even connect my iphone through vmware. Right click on the removable hard drive or flash disk to activate

    Question Updating 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 - crash on first reboot

    I have Leopard 10.5.2 from pcwiz, preconfigured as a Vmware virtual machine. Runs fine, no issues. The problem is that i can't seem to update to 1.5.4. Ran the update over 10 times, both on my PC and laptop. Followed these instructions as described (combined update .dmg from Apple, delete the AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext, edit /System/Library/Extensions/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext). Update comes to a successful completion-no problems there. But...
    On first reboot: ***Virtual machine kernel stack fault (hardware reset)***

    No matter what I do, same outcome, on both computers. Any ideas for x86 newbie? Please?

    I've got it running but its really slow.

    I gave it 1500mb ram to use but booting and using it is very slow.
