Yeah, I think the kernel panic when the system goes to sleep is Voodoo Kernel's fault. I have no idea why your cursor is choppy as long as VoodooHDA is loaded! That doesn't make any sense. I don't have that issue with my versions of the PS2 kexts. You can obtain them on my thread from a link.
Also, next time try backing up your Keyboard.prefpane from 10.5.6. Once you change an option in the 10.5.5 Trackpad tab, you can restore the 10.5.6 one, restore permissions, and the tab will still be there.
I really do think switching back to Vanilla kernel for updates and if you want to go on the run for a while (so that you can sleep). Thankfully when Voodoo KPs and you have EFI V9 installed, rebooting should reload the saved hibernate file and you can resume where you left off.
That doesn't save your battery life like real sleep would, though.
I'm working on building an install DVD just for our AOD150s. Mine is an AOD-15xx; I don't remember the last 2 digits, but it seems to indicate that it is a US model, black, and 6-cell battery.
I'm also working on using GFX or EFI strings instead of patched video drivers. I tried dumping a codec dump (from Ubuntu Jaunty, Mandriva wouldn't dump anything even though it ostensibly has cleaner, newer drivers) into Taruga, but the patcher just said that ALC272 isn't supported. Figures.
As for options on the DVD, I think I'll have under kernels: "Vanilla 1 CPU", "Voodoo with HT", and "Script with shortcut to switch kexts and kernels and reboot".
Under audio I'll have the option to do VoodooPS2 or not.
Under trackpad I'll have the options to do default "PS2 drivers" "Trackpad prefpane", (although I don't know how to do the 10.5.6 one without opening the 10.5.5 one and having SysPrefs crash first) then "2-finger scroll Synaptics/ALPS driver".
As for bootloaders, I'll have "Chameleon 1.0.11", "EFI V9", and "Chameleon 2 RC".
Attansic will be an install option of course.
Ditto for "ACPI Power Management".
Ditto for AppleDecrypt and Disabler. (apparently these two crash less than their predecessors dsmos and IntelCPUPMDisabler)
Let me know if anyone can think of other options. I guess graphics or EFI strings if I get them working. ("Laptop GMA950" is an option in OSX86Tools)
Does anyone think we need OpenHaltRestart? Mine shuts down perfectly every time. What about EFI strings for the Attansic card? If the driver is installed before your first boot I think the card gets tagged as en0 regardless, but I have had issues under Voodoo where the card stops "getting real IP addresses".
I'll look into modifying AppleHDA for the ALC272 after exams. It's a pretty tedious process as far as I can tell.
I used pcwizcomputer.com to learn a lot of this.
