Hey, i just re installed Leopard 10.5.7 using the Wingzero inspiried guide, and everything worked great. I used software update to update t0 10.5.8 and i thought everything worked until i tried sleep. When i was trying to get sleep to work some how i lost ethernet use. Anyone know how to get that back? Installed the ethernet fix isnt helping. Thanks

    Default Snow Leopard

first off: Thanks to everyone one this thread. It was amazing to see everyone work together and get SL installed on this machine.

It took me a few tries, but I finally have 10.6.1 installed and with the addition of my dell 1510 card, wireless it up and running!

What I can't get to work:
Bluetooth: I don't really care. Have a BT adapter if I ever do.
Ethernet: Did the fix. Still not working Not a huge deal
Trackpad: I still have the "sometimes tap to click works after I go to sleep" problem. I cant get 2 finger scroll to work (which I would REALLY REALLY like) I tried a couple of the fixes here. I downloaded the trackpad.pfane and installed it. It shows between "mouse and Print/Fax" but I've seen some people having it at the bottom next to VooDooHDA--is that where it should be to get all the features working?

Also: I have speakers working. It's just super quiet. I bumped up the levels and it gets "slightly" higher, but not really listenable--then again on W7 it wasn't really loud either. Why is the speaker on the bottom!!

I've been lurking on here every now and then since I always get notified of posts by email. I've been working on other things and haven't done anything past the Sony Vaio project. In terms of the site, I haven't had the time to work on it. I just put up the little flash block because it looked cool lol. There hasn't been any new netbooks I have taken interest in since the last project. It was fun while it lasted and it still makes me smile to see this thread alive. I think this is the longest thread on this site lol. Or at least one of the longest. So how's your project going?

I spent endless nights trying to work the WiFi kexts and still didn't to work completely. The only reason I used 10.5.8 is because it allowed me to use the Bluetooth PAN correctly. Didn't really need the WiFi component since I can bridge the connection over Bluetooth PAN. I can't explain why you are having problems with the Bluetooth and sound problems. At the moment I don't have any hardware to test modified kexts. Those project netbooks are long gone. Have to admit that the Sony Vaio was the best one for graphics.

Hey, i brought a Dell 1397 WiFi card, reported working natively from what i have read, but when i put it in it wont pick it up (says no Airport Installed) also the WiFi light is off on the front?

EDIT: Just booted up Ubuntu from my USB and the wifi works fine in there - WiFi light is off.

SOLVED!: I used the kext located here http://www.multiupload.com/GKHK0LA6P2 and it works perfectly now

Guys, I have chance to swap my original Atheros WiFi card with one from Asus EEE PC 901/902. It's Ralink (Probably RT2860) i found "drivers" on manufacturers web page ... do you have someone experience with this card? I will probably have time to test its functionality but still.

    THX
    Ethan
