    Hi there,
Your system looks very good, should be performing well as CPU and video card are fully supported.
What is your board chipsets? You could look into your BIOS to see if there is an option for SATA setting to AHCI. If there is then any new distro release should install without much trouble.

    Regards

Here's a screen shot of Device Manager: Whoops! - TinyGrab

I think I have the PM965 chipset, but I haven't slept in a day or so so I won't say that for certain (hence the screenclip).

I just restarted and the BIOS is quite sparse... I could only change the boot order, pause time before POST, and do a diagnostic on the hard drive. :/

Hey, I've got a DV9000 with almost exact specs as yours. I have two hard drives and I've installed the 'Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel Amd' on the second drive...Windows XP on the main drive. It installed no problem as it was a new drive and I didn't have to partition or anything. The issues I'm dealing with now is getting the video drivers installed correctly....getting the audio working....and trying to get the wireless to work as well.

I only installed this like two days ago and worked on it sparsely...so hopefully I'll accomplish some fixes today.

    Good Luck!!

    Hi,
Let me know if you still need some assistance.
Your post is in tutorial instead of installation, so I forgot to reply and I'm sorry about this.

    Cheers

If I still forgot you could PM to remind me.
