OK! I figured out my problem, followed your steps and I got it working =)

then I followed the DSDT patcher steps, and got that working also!!

Man this thing literally boots within 15-seconds of seeing the boot-loader screen

I did do one thing different though, when doing the DSDT patching the command I used was ./DSDT\ Patcher ./Debug/dsdt.dsl rather then just Debug/dsdt.dsl, not sure how picky OSx is, but I know the command you listed would not work with some unix platforms.

Now I do notice that moving stuff is a bit slow, like I can see video lag, my videocard shows up properly under system profiler but I do have the NVinject aswell as the driver going to try that next

from start to finish how to?

I basically followed this guide, the only differences in the steps I took are:

When setting IDE in the bios, make sure to set it to compatibility mode

when using the DSDT Patcher use this command without the '
    './DSDT\ Patcher ./Debug/dsdt.dsl'

otherwise I followed the same guide as the OP

Currently I have all 4 cores enabled, and I have HT enabled. About this mac shows 4 cores, now I'm working on getting my gfx card working better, it seems that there are some things that run choppy, like dashboard

Also I ran all of the updates through the software updater, and now I'm running 10.5.8

icchansan if you need any info from me let me know =)

GTX 285, it's running choppy still, trying another install on another drive on the first install, I've used nvinject efi string and evga gt200 driver, it does show up as a GTX285 in the hardware pref but it runs slow im trying diff enablers now

All 4 cores work, and all 8 show up when you turn on HT, =)
about this mac shows the 4 physical cores, but when you turn on activity monitor it shows 8 so I can confirm that HT is working

Hiya, haven't been around much lately...

I'm glad to see you've got HT & Cores working, bananax!
I shall try the command & compatibility mode for the hdd.

    Thanks for sharing your findings

Post p6t standartd root device error after insrtallation

i have found out something that many people might struggle after the installation is successfullly installed and then you get root device error. i tried to follow the guide but i get the same error again and again. this is how you get rid of it

FIRST WHEN YOU USE IATKOS V7 ON P6T NON DELUXE LEAVE THE DEFUALTS ON---SELECT NETWORK REALTEK1000 DRIVER...NOW HERE IS THE TRICK TO GET RID OF THE STILL WAITING FOR ROOT DEVICE

SELECT BOTH INTEL SATA/IDE AND JMICRON CONTROLLER.
IF YOU SELECT ONLY ONE LIKE INTEL SATA LIKE IT SAYS IN THE GUIDE
YOU WILL GET THE ROOT DEVICE ERROR. SELECT BOTH AND HIT THE INSTALLATION BUTTON. YOU ARE READY TO GO. MAKE SURE YOUR VIDEO CARD IS COMPATIBLE. IF NOT YOU CAN BOOT IN SAFE MODE -V -X
    any questions email me.

    Hi Guys,

Excellent thread, installed perfectly (I'm typing this in Mac OS X as we speak) except I am a little stuck when it comes to patching the DSDT for the i7 to be able to use all of its Cores...

...I followed along to everything that is stated however when it comes to the very last bit, copying the dsdt.aml file (cp dsdt.aml /DSDT.aml) I get:

    cp: /DSDT.aml: Permission denied
I'd be grateful if anyone can help me!

Just in case it's needed my specs are:
    Asus P6T Deluxe Motherboard
    Core i7 920@2.6GHz
    Corsair Dominator Ram - 3GB 1600Mhz
XFX ATI HD4870 1GB (works good with ATI HD ticked on install-and everything was a plain install as you state except the added VGA ATI HD checked and instead of the Realtek driver it was the last Marvell ticked).

    Many thanks in advance!

    Default dsdt patcher

horse...i got the permission denied to this is what youll need to do...
first make sure you have a password on your account. then make sure you use the file by typing in terminal...
    ls /
    then
rm /DSDT.aml , first make sure the file is there when you type ls /
go to page 2 on this guide and follow step 5 patching dsdt.
i got permission denied too but i removed the file then i restarted then tried patching again and it worked after patching i checked the ls / root directory and the new patched file was there.

any1982 thanks for the quick response!

I think it may now be sorted:

rm: dsdt.dat: No such file or directory
    mkdir: ./Debug: File exists
mv: ./dsdt.dsl: No such file or directory
    toms-mac-pro: DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e tom$ cp dsdt.aml /DSDT.aml
    toms-mac-pro: DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e tom$
Now do I have to run the osx86tools and check repair permissions? (As I never ran this in the first place as my ATI HD was in the original install checklist so I skipped step 4)

You are a star by the way!

PS. I think my problem was the fact the text looked like ls / looked like a 1 so I was putting 1s / instead!!! D'oh

**Update** ran osx86tools anyways, rebooted and activated all the cores plus hyper-threading in BIOS and $hit me this thing is FAST now!!! Thanks for the guide and any1982 thank you for your help mate!
