I think the read intensity for the laser just melts the already-heated substrate on the disc. I threw out half the stack just in case. This is the first time I've had issues with usually high quality Verbatim media.
Hi, how do we 'wait' between burning and verifying? do I just eject the disc after burning stage?
I tried creating 2 sets of recovery disc using the erecovery tools, but the two sets gave me different MD5SUM. That is, I created ISO files from the burned discs, and md5sum the ISOs.

Waiting before Verify
I honestly don't know. I gave up and bought the Acer recovery discs, but you could try popping the disc out once it's done, but the process will probably terminate...I think a different batch of media is the only solution.

Long Live Aspire One
I know that this thread has been dead for a little bit, but I want to bring it back to life. I bought an AOD250 about a week ago and I have been poking and hacking with it to get a firm version of OS X 10.5.6 with everything working (Except for Wireless, apparently, I will get on that later). I've downloaded a lot of KEXTs, updates and I have read at least 10 guides on how to do it (For both 150 and 250, since they are pretty much the same). Currently, I am perfecting the install on my 250 and hopefully with some more patients (Repairing permissions takes WAY to long lol) I will get a perfected image and be able to update a lot of these tutorials.

Can you tell me which ethernet kext you are using. I have successfully installed using iatkos 7 on my d250 but can't get the mic, ethernet and wireless working. I plan to get a dell 1510 to replace the existing wifi card (hopefully this will work).
Thanks!

Update
For WIFI, swapping the card is the only way to go. I have several extras that I can turn into Apple-branded cards. I have one AR5008 and three BCM4321s. I prefer the Broadcoms since the Linux drivers are better. Note that the AR5008 has three antennae. All of these models work with Leopard and Snow Leopard.
About the AttansicL1E driver, there are several floating around InsanelyMac and InfiniteMac. Some have even been re-compiled for 64-bit, but even with Snow Leopard, we won't have 64-bit kernel and extensions on our 32-bit Atom CPUs.
I'm installing Snow Leopard right now using the Google Code "Netbook Installer" method, but my system reboots as soon as the intro video plays. I think I need to remove some kexts that are very specific to the Dell Mini 9.

Hi, there, I was interested in trying your tutorial as I've been wanting to run as vanilla a kernel as possible so I can run Apple updates, and get to know the OS a bit better. I'm actually a PC computer technician, so anything other than the Mac software terms and procedures are pretty easy for me. Problem is, your Mediafire link to your driver script appears to have died. Any possibility of updating the link or reuploading the script? Or maybe there are updates you could do to the script to take advantages of newer files or things you've learned since you first posted the thread?
Or is Snow Leopard running well enough on the D150 that I should cough up $30 for the install CD and install that instead (seen any good vanilla tutorials)?
