Im downloading the iAtkos v7 DVD ISO now and will be burning it soon, i'll keep you posted on the success or failure of this. One thing i would like to ask is about setting the AHCI. I'd imagine it was included for a reason, but could someone explain what it actually changes? what does it actually within the BIOS? i've tried googling but didnt get much success (admittedly it was a quick 3 minute google)
ps im not sure of the age of this thread i gotlinked to it in google so sorry if its an epic gravedig
EDIT: also one more thing, it says burn at the slowest speed possible, im not sure how to change tihs in imgburn. I dont really use it also what is the main reason for doing so?

Check in wikipedia about AHCI, try to burn with nero o another program, before burn, set the speed at 4x or something

i did burn at 4x was just curious as to why it was a requirement, afterall you dont learn by just being told to do and not why as for ACHI i was reading in the wiki article, ive got 2 HDDs in my computer so im going to change to achi for now and install iatkos DVD, hopefully it shouldnt affect my win7 HDD

We burn in slow speed to avoid errors, it shouldnt affect your HDD with seven, but you can always unplug that HDD just in case ;P

k so everything went brilliantly, ive installed it and i have a mac OS X. Only two issues, the drivers posted are a dead link so i have no internet and im stuck on 1024x768 res (rage) and in my BIOS it is seeing my Mac OS X hdd as my main HDD which would be fine if everything worked correctly but at the moment it doesnt so any driver recommendations?
EDIT: Fixed all the issues except the sound which im working on now
