Angry why is every thread being locked? The stickies are too long and confusing

Some of us what to ask a specific question about a specific carrier or product and it seems that all we get is a message telling us to read the deco's sticky and that x-sim cards suck... this is a bunch of BS if you ask me. The sticky threads have too much information and too many pages for me to read each one just to answer one question. And sometimes the answers are scattered throughout the stickes, so you might find one post on page 3 thats partially relavent and some more info on page 13... Its just rediculous to close our threads and direct us to the stickies. Your going a little overboard on the censorship! I dont know about the rest of you, but I love this site, but have found myself going elsewhere to ask questions because of the mod closing every thread.

Just venting but it seems pointless to just close them, the first page is full of closed threads. Might as well delete them if your going to do anything

reznor9, I agree with you completely. I've been here since the first iphone, the original mods were not as strict. But the new mods and all the new policies have really shut a lot of us up. I find myself using google more than hackint0sh.org for my questions and I rarely post anything anymore. Everything will just get closed anyways. Mods, you are really going overboard with closing thread, etc. I understand the renaming, moving, etc, but completely closing threads after just one post and pointing them to a 50page thread to look for their answer is just too much. I might get banned or something for this, but the truth is the truth.

That's exactly the point - if you want a support forum, go bug the suppliers of the solution to host it.

I've been here since the first iphone, the original mods were not as strict
I've been here since the first iPhones, and users were more interested in understanding how things worked rather than buy ready made crappy SIM solutions and stand in line to get scammed

So yeah, check the stickies if you have nothing to contribute, and don't hesitate to create new threads to share your productive ideas, if any

I thought these fourms were so we the users could converse with eachother on our experiences with certain items and situations... I feel like our threads are annoying you as if we are bugging you for answers... but I think you should detach yourself a bit because none of these threads are directed at you for answers, we are asking eachother, other members of the community, so we can learn from eachothers mistakes and give advice on topics that catch our eyes in which we may have something to offer. I browse the topics on the main page and if I see something I can help with or something I too would like to know I enter the thread... I dont go into the stickies and then scan through the endless chatter looking for questions I can help with or answers to my quesitons...

You close the threads directing people to the stickies, but they are so long that people dont search them for answers, they instead post the same question again within the sticky, only to be unanswered or flamed for not reading post 54 on page 5... might as well remove the button at the top of the fourm for NEW THREAD... why not just have the stickies and nothing else...

I dont mean to sound disrespectful, because I know the way I am phrasing this sound just that way, but I just want to convey my frustration.. thanks for taking the time to read this

These threads are annoying me because the only thing they do is allow crap sellers to sell more crap. Those guys have never contributed to the community and never will, so these threads should annoy you too.

Well, as I said previously, it's ok to create a new thread to discuss technically what's happening and what to do. Otherwise it brings absolutely nothing new to the pot. Blue crap is the same as red crap or yellow crap. I even bet you only have 2 or 3 manufacturers for 20 products.

    Zf,

its understandable for you to close those sellers selling those things. But how about way before when everyone was searching and scouring every inch of the internet for TURBOSIMS to "unlock" their 1st gen iphone. I remember seeing threads selling turbosims in the hundreds of dollars. Why weren't those thread closed? Then there were the hundreds of threads of people asking "how do you program a turbosim?" over and over and over again. Frankly at the time I was annoyed at those who asked how to program a turbosim, when there was a sticky, wait, like 10 stickies on how to program them. Then once the software unlock came out, everyone started bashing turbosim. Then there was the OTB 1.1.1 or was it 1.1.4. Then everyone turned to all sorts of sim stuff, PSS sim kit in my case, and we posted extensively how to use it, how to cut the sims, etc. None of those threads were closed before? Why now?

Also, some threads were just asking, which sim kit is everyone using, which sim kit was working for which carrier, and asking for user experience, but someone closed it and put something like, "POST THIS COMMERCIAL BS ELSEWHERE" or something to that effect? How is asking for experience and which solution, commercial? He was trying to sell? He was trying to ask for what to buy? If you're unpleased with the sim solution in general, I think its wrong to try to convince other people to conform with your view. And witht he power to stop people from talking about it, its like a communist country or even a dictatorship where the whisper of x-sim will get shut up... Please reconsider. Thanks for letting me vent.

Because the TurboSIM solution worked flawlessly. And because Bladox has always been community oriented unlike all other vendors too.

I'm just trying to prevent those crappy products that either won't work or/and will break your phone from gaining mindshare and momentum. Feel free to suggest better methods to achieve this result.

The final answer is, you cant. People are just gonna go ahead and buy inferior products even when they know it is of lower quality, etc. Sometimes because they're dieing to use their expensive ipod touch, some just want to try, some just don't care, as long as it works for the time being. You can't reallly stop or prevent people frmo doing things like that. Just let them do what they want, and since this is a community forum, there's always gonna be all sorts of people, and everyone have their own right to do what they please, so let them. All you can do is tell them or warn them otherwise against the product, but if they choose to go ahead with it anyways, its their choice. But you can't prevent them from talking or discussing, thats like violation of their freedom or something. I dono how to explain my point exactly, but I've tried. Thanks.

My point is that, in most cases they don't know, because they'll keep releasing unfinished products, make false promises, and so on. If I can help preventing a shady fail business to cheat more people, I don't really care if it makes my virtual self look like a tyrant.
