Unlock with TurboSim/RebelSim does not work
Hello everyone,
I have my iPhone 3G for almost a week now, but I can't get it to work.
The iPhone is T-Mobile The Netherlands Simlocked. I have Hi (another carrier in the Netherlands) myself. After some searching on the internet I found out the only way to unlock an iPhone with bootloader 5.9/6.2 was to do it the hardware-way.
I decided to buy a TurboSim, and received it yesterday. On the 'turbosim' itsself, it says : rebel simcard.
I followed all the steps in the user manual that I received together with the turbosim/rebelsim.
When I put the turbo/rebelsim together with own simcard in my iPhone I just keep getting the message : no sim installed/no service.
My iPhone has baseband 2.30 and Firmware 2.2.1 (jailbroken)
What else could I do to get my iPhone to work with my own simcard?
Thanks in advance,
Vincent

I've been having the exact same issue with my phone although it is not Jailbroken, I can get it to work sometimes by taking the sim out, putting it into an unlocked nokia hand phone i have, make a few calls and a few SMS and put it back into my iPhone with the rebel sim. Usually I can pick up signal then. My problem is I keep loosing signal within 24 hours and I have to fiddle around with it all over again. I have also tried resetting network settings which seems to help some times. Sort of at a lose though, any ideas?

Does anybody have a tip/trick for us to get it to work?

pay for the official tmobile unlock seems the best bet tbh, the no sim error is a worse error than losing signal, you might have to send it back or get a new simcard

Maybe your turbosim is out of date? I have had sold to many people in Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and Austria and my turbosims seems to work.
Sometimes, the chips are faulty as well, maybe you had bad luck?
Kind regards,
KLP
