TurboSim and a Locked AT&T Sim!
OK, this was stupid. Never done it before but this is what happens when you play around late at night.
I managed to lock my AT&T sim and it asks for a PUK code now.
My iPhone was activated via iActivator and I live in the UK.
It doesn't matter at the moment (apart from the unlock message when I first switch on) but if I wanted to use the TurboSim method, is the locked Sim going to stop this method? Do I need to obtain the PUK? If so, any ideas how I do this as the phone was never activated with AT&T?

Unfortunately I don't think the card is going to let you read the IMSI if locked, which AppleSaft won't like
So you have several options (and calling AT&T is not one of them I'm afraid
)
- Mod AppleSaft to enter a fixed IMSI & ICCID
- Use the new software posted on Bladox forum (isa) which is supposed to let you enter your ICCID & IMSI, rather than reading it from a card.

Thanks. I thought it wouldn't work unless it could read the card. But I'll definitely look into your suggestions.
Truth is, I'm rather hoping the dev team come up with a software unlock that means I can bypass AT&T altogether but at the moment TurboSim does seem the best chance. I just can't believe my stupidity in locking the sim.
Oh well, it could be worse - I could have bricked the iPhone!

Did you happen to make a note of the AT&T sim details before you locked it out?
If you didn't, I'm afraid you may well be up the creek without a paddle as it goes.
All you need from the original AT&T sim to proceed with the TurboSIM method is its IMSI number which you may have noted down during your activation process etc.
Whilst its really easy to find this normally, I'm not sure how easy it is to get it after you've locked out the sim!

Do you know if not having a working ATT sim will be a problem if I ever need to deactivate and reactivate the iPhone (or upgrade/restore firmware) using one of the hacks (ie iActivator)? Do the activation hacks rely on a working ATT sim?

Update:
I've checked with AT&T - they're happy to accept that I have a "damaged" sim, but will not send new sim cards abroad to unactivated accounts. No surprise, there.
But anyone can walk into an AT&T store in the States, say they've damaged their sim, not have to have the orginal sim or the iPhone and they will sell a new, unactivated sim for the iPhone for $20 to $30.
So all I need is to find someone in the States to do that for me! As I want to try the Turbo Sim method I'm going to have to get another AT&T sim.
Can anyone help? I can PayPal a payment for the cost of the sim and postage.
