Hey guys,

Ok, so I've got an OTB 1.1.2 and I got it unlocked and jailbroken and all that jazz using a turbosim. Took it to some Asian guy at the Asian mall here in Toronto and paid him to do it for me.

Anyways, I tested it and everything seems to work. Incoming and outgoing calls work great. The WiFi works and whatnot. I want to start using the iPhone, but I'm afraid of messing it up because of all these horror stories I keep hearing.

So before I connect it to my PC to sync with iTunes, can you guys let me know if its safe to do so? Will it automatically update to 1.1.3 or will it ask first? Are there any settings (on the phone or on iTunes) that I should check before I connect?

Also, when I click the icon "installer" it says there is an update for installed available (and the icon shows a little red circle with the number 1 in it). I chose not to install that, because I don't know what it means. Is it safe to do that, or no?

About 1 : It is safe to sync it, Itunes will ask first before updating it (Don't update it!!!!)

2.- The Installer update doesn't affect your Iphone by any means, so it is safe to install it .

Turbosim != unlock.

Don't misunderstand this, it is just a sim solution that cheats the iPhone and makes it believe the sim card inserted is an Original Authorized Carrier Sim that comes with the iPhone when you buy it.

ok, i really don't think thats important to the point of this thread. people understand my point, i think.

i've got an iphone 1.1.2 working on a turbosim and i want to know if its safe to connect to my pc and sync with itunes. i want to be sure it won't auto-update, but will ask first. i also wanna be sure i can update installer on the phone.
