[Turbosim] "Fixed Number Dialing Active" ?

I got a turbo sim and used it with My Etisalat sim card here in Dubai. The process went smooth until the very end when I put my sim card with the turbo sim in the phone. When I rebooted it just said "Fixed Number Dialing Active" but it wouldn't connect to the network or anything.

I then went out and got a prepaid card from the other carrier here in Dubai called du and tried the process and it worked fine.

The problem is that I want to keep my number on the Etisalat network with my iphone. Anyone have any idea why the Etisalat sim card didn't work? Has anyone else gotten this message?

The Etisalat sim card is about 6 months old and the du prepaid card is brand new.

update your iPhone firmware to 1.0.2

Thanks for the response. I actually tried that and still got the same message.

I went to Etisalat and got a new sim card and did it all again and this time it worked!

Glad to be a member of the unlocked iphone world

Did you just ask for a new SIM with the same number from Etisalat?

Yup I was able to just get a new sim card with the same number and it worked fine.

Do you have a 3G enabled SIM? Does EDGE work for you by setting everything to "mnet"? I got it all working on an older SIM - but the newest one is not working for some odd reason. Maybe I should try to get another one..?!

For the "Fixed Number Dialing" problem get a replacement SIM from Etisalat.

For the EDGE problem, change your access point to "etisalat.ae"

Ignore - username/password is empty (as it is being ignored)

The options for the data services seems to be:

Unlimited Global
Type “r bis295” and send SMS to 1010.
Cost: Dhs 295 / month

Limited Domestic
Type “r bis130” and send SMS to 1010.
Cost: Dhs 130 / month (3mb)

Additional data access exceeding initial 3MB
Dhs 0.01/ KB Limited Domestic

Unlimited Domestic
Type “r bis185” and send SMS to 1010.
Cost: Dhs 185 / month
