Default [TurboSIM] did it 3 times, still not working

I am desperate. Went through the entire process in this post:
    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17738

After the first complete attempt I got the "no service" error, means that once the phone is running, instead of the carrier I recieve "no service" after a while.

    So I started over entirely

After the second attempt I got rid of the "no service" error and my carrier was displayed. Now when I tryied to dial a number, after dialing the first digit the phone went back to the home screen. When I tryied to recieve a call from the outside, the spinning wheel appeard on top of the home screen and after a while it jumped to the "unlock screen". So somehow the phone crashed when making calls.

So I starded over yet again

Now I get stuck connecting via the terminal to the phone. After typing "turbo-info" it starts to run but then just hangs. See result from the terminal below

    MacBook-Pro:~ mcs$ ssh root@192.168.1.20
    root@192.168.1.20's password:
    Last login: Thu Jan 24 10:14:15 2008 from 192.168.1.30
    -sh-3.2# launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
    -sh-3.2# turbo-info
    initializing modem
    AT+CPMS="SM","SM"
    ERROR
    modem initiated

Was that an error doing the process more than once? How do I proceed? Any help is highly appreciated!!!!

I get a "Wrong SIM" message now. Looks like something went wrong with the TurboSIM after my interrupted atempt in the 3rd round. How should I proceed?

Did you ever tap the set/applesaft having Turbosim/YourSim in the iPhone. If so, you have to redo the whole process.

If I were you I would startover the complete process. Dont known which iPhone version you are working with (please mention in post title next time). Cause I dont know what went wrong and whats screwed up I would restore to 1.1.2, then and jailbreak/activate/SSH on it (with the ATT sim in the phone, that came with it).

Then make sure you have to type in the pin for your private sim when using it. You need probably another mobile phone to do so and do the following:

After having set your simcard to ask for the pin before using it, put your simcard and turbosim into a mobile phone (not the iPhone you are working on). When the dialog appears to type in your sim pin, type the TPIN instead and tap OK (it is printed on that tiny sheet of paper the Turbosim came with). This way the Turbosim is completely resetted.

get Turbosim / Your sim out of your other mobile and startover the Turbosim programming.

    Hallo

Well, I was kind of devastaded because of the hole issue. And that's why I forgot to provide specs.

I am working with a week 45 device, went all the way down to 1.1.1. and back to 1.1.2. If I understand you right, you recomend to start over by going down to 1.1.1. again and upgrade to 1.1.2 with all the jailbreaks and bells and whistles, no? Well that doesn't worry me to much. But what looks realy like a problem is the fact that when I insert the TurboSIM together with my local SIM into my old phone, I get the message "No SIM". Can I be that I screwed it up that hard? The card itself looks OK unless it had been going in and out several times. I'm realy starting to get worried now…

Try first to just do the turbosom programming again.
Use another iphone first to earase all stuff from tsim as mentioned above.
then put tsim and att sim in your iphone again and redo the programming including set etc

    hope that works

    Done! Its working now.

    Two remarks:
    1. my old phone did not accept the TSIM so I had no chance to enter the TPIN.
So I found this alternative via Terminal:
    launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
    turbo-reset
    launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

    2. I had to use iWorld. Tims way somehow didn't made the trick for me.

Thank you for your help anyway!

Glad to hear you got it working!
turbo-reset is one of the executables that comes with the vable utilities and is installed when you prepare for turbosim. the one never worked for me, but helped you, good.
i order to make the tpin work the phone has to support pins with more than four digits, not all do.

    have fun
