    Default TurboSim

Would anyone know in theory if a programmed TS would work on any firmware even if it was programmed on an older and then inserted on a brand new phone. ie one that is not "jailed". I wanted to try it out - but none of my friends were as stupid as i and got an iphone.....

If they dont change the process the iPhone is checking if you are using an ATT card, turbosim might be a solution. BUT: you have to do the (now) iNdependence activation first and this babe requires to write to the iPhone under 1.1.1. NOT possible as far as I know for now. IF this works one day turbosim might be a solution again to set the iPhone free under 1.1.1.

No, at least not now. To use turbosim (even if its already programmed) first thing to do afetr a recovery (even now) ist to "activate" the phone, then use the turbosim. Activating wont be possible immediately. watch the postings here after firmware upgrade is out and stay with 1.0.2 for a while

best way will go with TurboSIM (I am using TurboSIM this way) :

-subscribe to GO Plan AT&T on web-site: you have a real activation, also under 1.1.1
-cancel next day/next week your subscription (all together, this will cost a 1 month subscription, but you won't need iNdependence or Paycar)
-your iPhone is today + tomorrow under next firmware versions AT&T activated (iTunes remembers after every restore you are AT&T activated, so "legal")

-TurboSIm will work like this under 1.1.1

you are very coorect. i have tried activating using differenet methods posted on the web. but now ATT deals with each "suspiscous" (or however its spelled) case much more in depth. Like me trying to fake a go plan have two "go" sims but not being able to activate as they are not roaming in europe. etc etc etc im in spain. got hold of an activated ATT from one of the guys doing hardware unlocks in Sydney. So Im thinking to programi it ?

    OK, S`o
    1) I have an iPhone, properly activated on an AT&T SIM/account.

    2) I am using a Turbo SIM in my iphone , connected to my UK O2 SIM to spoof the iPhone into thinking it has an AT&T SIM in it.

    3) This means the phone is not softwtrare unlocked or hacked, but the TSIM simply fools the phone into thinking it has an AT&T SIM in it, when it really has my own local UK SIM in it in fact.
In this situation, can I run the update? The phone will have the same original AT&T SIM info (IEMI number etc) programmed into the inserted Turbo SIM to send to the phone as when it was reactivated, so surely the phone shoul successfully be reactivated and this will work?

This should work, you just wont have access to all the third party add on aps but your phone should work because you properly activated via ATT and didn't do a software unlock. The only way it wont work is if the new firmware specificaly looks to see if you have a turbo sim installed....does it do that? we don't know yet....I would first remove the turbo sim and they just put in your real att sim, do the firmware upgrade, then insert the turbo sim...I bet it will work.

    Let us know.
