A couple of days ago I bought an 16gb Iphone 3g with 2.1 firmware and jailbroken with Quickpwn. I'm using the Three UK network on contract.
Today I got myself an i-smartphone turbo sim, but I've not been able to get it to work. I just get the "no sim" error and once in a blue moon I get "sim card locked". I don't know if the turbo sim is faulty or if it's just not working with this sim. If I downgraded the firmware, would it work?
Another option is to get another turbo sim, I've been reading about Virgin Sim and Rebel Sim. Are these the best for the 3 network? If not what are my other options.
Sorry to waffle, I just want to be able to use my 3g Iphone properly . I didn't realise Turbo sims were so hard to get working untill I came to this site.

I also forgot to add that although I'm in the uk, it's a us Iphone.

im on 3 network also.

ive used gevey, virginsim and ismartphone3g sim.

they all work but i find ismartphone3g works best for me so far. The reception coverage is better but not as high as i hoped for comparing to when i use to use my n95.

tried virginsim and gevey but they both gave me very weak signal and not much reception.

im due a new highspeed virginsim with some new software on it soon and as soon as i have tested that i will post feedback on how well i get on with it.

i dont think downgrading it would make much of a difference. but can be worth a try for testing purposes.

Maybe i think 3 just does not work well in iphones maybe?

and its jailbreaked using quickpwn on a mac

mines jailbroke on a windows machine using quickpwn. Tried an O2 sim card today with and without the turbo sim. With the turbo sim said "no sim" and without the turbo sim worked but didn't pick up a signal

Now I'm getting a signal on my o2 sim card, but still nothing with the turbo sim and 3 sim card.

maybe you can try easyisim, it is work perfectly for UK telco. you can walk in to theirs shop located at London and place an easyisim to try before you buy.
