BTW, WAP is not EDGE. If i use the WAP APN, then i have the "E" also, but no connection. Mobile internet, or EDGE settings are different for each provider and different for wap, EDGE/GPRS and UMTS.

So, call support instead of asking on forums for the APN and the activation of the service. And if it wont work, the it ends there!

I know, but asking it on a forum is stupid, ask your provider. They take support calls 24/24 and can give you the answer before you get an answer over here.

Is there any way to tell if I have a V1 SIM or V2 SIM? I've had T-Mobile since it was Omnipoint (not kidding - at least 10 years, through the Voicestream days) but a few years back I lost my original Treo and had to get a replacement SIM card and phone. I'm guessing this was in 2005 some time, but don't remember exactly when. Is there any chance my SIM card will work via SuperSIM/SilverSIM method? Or do I have to find a TurboSIM or do the hardware hack if I want to get an iPhone?

What does your SIM card look like?

I have located a friend with an old Voicestream SIM (which I think is V1). Can I activate this SIM in my T-Mobile USA account, even though it was activated in someone else's account until recently? Or do I need to find a SIM that has never been used?

While we are at it, is there a way to tell whether a T-Mobile card is v1? Also, are all Voicestream SIMs v1?
