I have a Silver card
Sim max 6 in 1.
Sim Master 4

When i try to write .Hex files created i says enter a gsm or sim-emu card

do i need a programmer first,is there anything else i can do.
if yes where can i find a cheap programmer.

As amazing as it may sound, to program a SilverCard you actually need a programmer... Infinity USB Unlimited is one the most popular and safe choices.

Other people seem to prefer building their own (for instance, following the instructions available at http://www.geocities.com/micgm/gwcprog/gwcprog.html).

Actually, Sim Master 4 is a programmer, but as far as I understand it supports MagicSIM smartcards (like Sim max 6 in 1).
I do not believe it supports SilverCards, while Infinity, Dynamite and CAS 2 or 3 will.
