Strange behavior on iPhone 1.1.2 OOB with Turbosim and T-Mobile Germany
Hi there,
so before anyone tells me to use the search function.
I did! And the answers I got made me more confused.
First of all.
I have a US iPhone 1.1.2 OOB and a T-Mobile contract (no iPhone plan).
I ordered a Turbosim and everything went well with the applesaft thing.
If I insert the t-mobile card with the TS it works with 5 bars for about
1 1/2 minutes. Including calling and whatever.
After this 90 sec. the iphone loses the signal and went back with 5 bars after about 15 sec's.
I use a T-Mobile Germany n3 card.
Some in the forum say, yes it works, other say no.
So, what is the correct answer. I have no card from another carrier to try with, so
maybe someone can help me.
Thanks in advanced
Holunder
Little Update: If I'm connected to my carrier, i can't use Settings -> Carrier. If I type on Carrier it responses just ERROR

UPDATE:
Seems like it was a problem between the contacts of the TS and my SIM.
TS + n3 SIM from T-Mobile Germany seems to work. In my case it worked the last 36 hours without problems.

hi holunder!
what did you do to solve the problem?
i have the same behavior with my two t-mobile cards (one twinbill and one normal - just recieved a week ago).
it works with every other provider i tried (eplus and vodafone) just the two t-mobile cards show that behavior!
signal comes on, stays there for 60+ seconds and then it looses the signal for 15 seconds (even reportins "no service") before regaining reception again. after 4 or 5 times it ends up reporting "no sim installed" during the periods of reception i can even make a short call, but it kicks me out regardless of whether i make a call or not.
the turbosim is tested and confirmed working (as i said above just plug in a different provider and it works). also both sim-cards are working in different phones. i know there are reports of problems with twinbill-cards, but the other one should be working. the only thing that makes me wondering is, that the normal sim-card also has 2 pin-numbers, that came with it. however only one of them is working. the other one is rejected.
i've spend about 30-40 hours of forum and internet research on this topic.
so if somebody knows how to get it working i'd be quite happy!
greetings,
holtzkopf

i have tested with t mobile uk,some of the t mobile sim card having the same problem in iphone.
in my experiance,i have unlock many phones, some T mobile sim card is not compatible with some phone ie=lg8120,morola c975....signal very unstable
so nothing we can do,this is the sim card compatiblity with the phone.just change another sim it may work fine.
