[StealthSIM] "No sim" & "No service" issues
Ok.I have been trying to unlock, activate and jailbreak my iphone since Christmas with no avail.Well.... I did unlock and jailbreak the iphone but I always get stuck on the "no sim" and "no service" issue. I went from using TurboSim but that was to complicated as you have to program the sim.Now i am using StealthSim and I am still getting the "no service" and "no sim".I have done the realigning to the double sided tape method but it doesn't work. I have turned in my iphone to a local (Guam) cell phone carrier to try to get it to work but after 2 weeks of them trying they returned it back to me and said they can't get it to work. I just think they don't know how to.Now what I wanna try to do is maybe revirginize the iphone and start from scratch. My question is. Is it possible to do this to an OTB 1.1.2 Iphone? Any suggestions on what I can do? I would really appreciate any help. Please help me get over this.As much as I hate to give up on something it seems like I am heading towards that option.Again please someone help me through this.

You can't revirginize a baseband that hasn't even been messed with. That's the problem with 1.1.2 OTB is that we can't get into the BB. To be completely honest with you, i've never attempted to unlock my phone, so I don't know the details, but I don't think you should give up.
Maybe you should try restoring.

you can do the geohot&co HW unlock method described here and then after tp and bl downgrade you'll be able to do whatever you want with your phone...

my friend had a problem like yours and the problem was on their sim, was too old and didnīt do proper connection with stealthsim. Check if in your sim thereīs a message like : "Gemplus". when we realized that he went to vodafone and asked for a new sim, he got it right that moment and all worked ok.
i paste a Q&A from stealthsim:
Q:
I am getting a "no sim" on my phone, how do I fix this problem?
A:
What this usually means is that you are having contact issues between your phone sim and the StealthSIM. First try and realign the StealthSIM and your sim card (you may have to try several different times before you are successful. If this does not work, check and see that the StealthSIM and your sim card are flush up against each other. Especially, when you are sliding in your tray. If this still does not work check and see if you are using a GemPlus sim. If you are, then this sim is an older sim that has poor contacts to synchronize with the StealthSIM. Ask your local phone provider to give you a new sim card. This should fix your "no sim" problem.
An other solution could be as follows:
Some providers/sim cards, you may have to install the iworld program on your iPhone. Go to Installer, Tweaks 1.1.2, iWorld, install it - & it should solve the issues if you have any.

I agree. The strealthsim should work. Ask your service provider for a new sim-card.

Hi, I had a similar problem like this and I solved it by cleaning the sim contacts. I used an eraser the one kids uses to school or even the one that pencils got on top. It will take away some kind of rust that the sim usually gets and make it shiny and will avoid any false contact.

In several cases i adjusted the stealthsim positioning ca. 0.01 inch (0.25 mm) to the right (looking at the "sandwich" in the tray with the stealthsim chip at the top. Then aplly tape to keer together sim en stealthsim at the bottom.
