Hi Guys,

There are now a couple of South African's who have imported an iPhone and are using the StealthSIM / TurboSIM solution to unlock their phones. I know that some people have been having problems getting their SIM cards to unlock on their iPhones, and are getting the "NO SIM" error messages...

Please attempt to document any problems that you (South African only users) have while using the StealthSIM on either of these networks:

MTN
Vodacom
Cell C
Virgin Mobile (SA)

Also: There seems to be a problem where the StealthSIM will not work on some of the network operators' SIM cards. Let's try work out which SIM cards work, and which don't ... then we can go from there!!!!

P.S. If you get the NO SIM error message, then you need to try reseat your StealthSIM, (by as little as 1/10mm) OR replace your SIM card with one that works!!!

MTN SIM Card - Model Number : C SA WIB 2.4 ???
This card is reported to work well with the iPhone!

MTN SIM Card - Model Number : C SA WIB 3.1
This card is reported to work well with the iPhone!

MTN SIM Card - Model Number : 3G
This card is reported to NOT work with the iPhone!
Gives the error message : NO SIM

Vodacom SIM Card - Model Number : 3G
This card is reported to work well with the iPhone!

Any others ???

Anybody got any word on whether the 3G S can be hacked for MTN or VODACOM? I'm thinking of bringing one over with me when I return shortly but don't want to waste my time and money if it's DOA...
