Why do you despise these proxy sim solutions if they do infact work? I still want and would rather use a software unlock.. I check your site daily to get updates with my fingers crossed, but in the meantime my virgin sim is holding up fine.
Because they do not work, in my (and it seems rather shared among the team) definition of "work", which refers to a 100% understood and reproductable behaviour.

    All the fail SIMs

    1) Built on the shoulders of the original free and open source Turbo SIM unlock, which was fully documented and worked without interfering with the network. However none of them contributed anything to the hacking community

    2) Rely on network race conditions which are at best unpredictable, at worst totally random (and subject to change at will).

    3) Can get your contract suspended or put you in legal trouble if somebody feels like causing those troubles (guess what, Apple isn't usually the last company to do that )

I was just reading comments from some losers, but Dev Team you guys rock, all of you guys are talented hackers, and because of your time and work, there are hell lot of working unlocked 2g iPhones and more jailbroken phones. I probably wouldn't buy the iPhone if its not jailbroken, cause after some time the black screen sucks, anyways my point being, please dont stop doing what you do by hearing from so many losers.

    Cheers!

Wrong, the 2g unlock was thanks to IPSF and Geohot... Good try though! The best thing the dev team has done is create pwnage which was a fantastic creation. However the dev team has recently become arrogant probably due to the fact that they have had little success with the 3G. They attack Sim solution users, like myself, even when we are attempting to provide support and help for others.

PS What ever happened to the elite team?

Very bad attempt at rewriting history....

anySIM, the first free software 2G unlock, came from the DevTeam.

...so did the iPhone 2G and iPod Touch 1G jailbreaks.

...so did the iPhone 3G jailbreak.

...and of course, any software 3G unlock will come from the DevTeam. Guaranteed.

Further evidence of your ignorance. We joined teams (I was on Elite originally before the merge).

Oh I'm the ignorant one because you guys copied IPSF works and then distributed an inferior solution that got destroyed with every update? IPSF worked better up until 1.1.4 then any of the dev teams solutions. Without them you may not have ever unlocked the 2g. Yes you do a fantastic job with the jailbreaks but stop being so cocky. You have never unlocked the iPhone without other organizations helping. I'll believe it when I see it...

Please stop bull........ around for now. All of you *sim-guys would not even be around with your shiny 3G iPhones without Pwnage, right? No one delivered anything since fw 2.x but the iPhone Dev Team.

On history: first learn the facts, then start posting. I have been using Turbosim way back with firmware 1.0.x - guess who was the one developing the solution (with others of cause)? His forum name starts with a Z - so. It was free - all the time - and working. So were all the other solutions that freed my iPhones from that date - free, and made by the guys we know as the Dev Team today.

I have been following this in several threads, had to post something now. The mods here just try to help - everyone, BUT: There is so many bull written, so many scam on *sim-stuff, we dont want ppl to pay for half-bread solutions, thats why Zf, Muscle and others post replies here.

    just my 2 cent

    Agreed.

As I've already explained to you (short memory you've got there), we did not copy the IPSF unlock. They manipulated the tokens, we manipulate the code. (And geohot's soft unlock for 4.6 is an anySIM unlock too, by the way).

Their solution doesn't work with 4.6 bootloader 2G phones. Their solution destroys your original tokens forever. Their solution isn't even close to a solution for 3G. Seems like a poor target to want to "copy".
