Does the sim-max colner work as an iPhone unlock too?
Or do I need a Silvercard? If not: can I get the sim-may reader/writer and a clear Silvercard? If not: where can I get this stuff cheap (in Europe)

I found some pieces of information on the net:
One is that the sim-max is a greencard with a modified simemu so it can be programmed with another writer, the writer itself isn't compatible with the simemu/woronscan software and on this site : http://www.phonevolts.ie/product_inf...roducts_id=150 they claim that it can be used to unlock the iphone.

i hope i can get the writer to work because i have one of these and my friend has a spare sim max card

That is very interesting, do you have any links? Can the sim-max be erased and reprogrammed? The sim-max is cheaper than the greencards from memory.

I guess I will know soon as my greencard and programmer are enroute from Europe. I already have the sim max kit as it was cheap enough to have a play with.

BTW these are cheaper on ebay. I bought my card and programmer for $US15 shipped to Canada. The software with this programmer is flaky.

Any info on this? I also have a sim-max card lying around.

Does anyone know what chip this card uses? maybe we could program with icprog.

You can't use the SIM MAX USB reader/writer with a silvercard - http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2557.

The claims on the website are totally bogus regarding its use in an unlock, people would have been all over it if that was the case.

However I don't know what the chip is on the SIM MAX card or its relation to a green/silver card.
