    Didn't work ! At all... Nothing !

I did eveything accordingly, but I got "No service" after a few minutes...

Wait, now I'm thinking to myself, Should the phone be "activated" on Pwnage ?
Just an Update... It worked perfectly ! Just took out some tape... I don't know why but too much tape gets in the way of things...

    7 weeks and still going! Universal-sim 5.00 AT&T iphone 3G FW 2.1 BB 02.08.01 on T-Mobile US

    Calls in/out = still Working!
    SMS in/out = Still Working!
    GPS = Still Working!
Edge = Still Working! (T-Zones Hack)
    3G = Not compatible

My contract is up soon with T-Mobile and I was thinking about switching to AT&T but after looking at there horrible plans and the success I have had so far with this *sim, I think I will keep my $50 T-Mobile plan.

    SMS In/Out: Yes
    EDGE: Yes
    3G: Not available here.

    Verdict: So far, so good.

    Comments:
    1. No Carrier Selection menu.
    2. No STK Menu.
    3. Airplane Off then back ON requires reboot.
    4. Found signal really fast. Practically have signal even before boot is complete. Very good point.

    @virgin-sim
All the samples have a black line on the bottom. One had a redline on the top, this one doesn't work. NO SIM error, no matter what I do.

    UPDATE:

I mentioned earlier that the one marked in RED didnt work. I messed with it a bit more and now it works. I put it in, NO SIM. I turn on Flight Mode. Wait about 10 seconds so it shuts down all the communication stuff. Then turn it back off, NO SIM error is gone. Reboot and signal came. Can all of you with the none working RED marked HIGH SPEED VirginSim try this. Put the sim in, let it say no sim, turn on flight mode, wait, turn off flight mode, reboot. Just checking if mine is just a fluke. Thanks.

Thanks for your test results, it will definitely help us to improve our Virgin-sim.

    1. No Carrier Selection menu.
    >>>This will be a problem for all *sim. This is related to the unlocking method we use. Sorry to say that it is not possible to solve it yet.
    2. No STK Menu.
    >>>Some simcard will have STK menu, not all simcards. Multi number simcard will not work. What type of simcard you are using?
    3. Airplane Off then back ON requires reboot.
    >>> Solving this issue will arise some other problemsin unlocking. We have to compromise .
    4. Found signal really fast. Practically have signal even before boot is complete. Very good point.
    >>> Finding signal fast is one of the strong features of Virgin-sim,we want to provide a better & user friendly (no sim-cutting) solution, so more users can enjoy their iPhone.

So it's been almost two weeks since I originally posted this, and here is what has happened since:

I was able to work on my sister-in-law's phone a few days after the posting. After repeatedly rebooting, changing tape and swapping SIMs between her 3G and mine, I was able to break the ejecting mechanism on my 3G. Luckily a thick paperclip fit snugly enough into the sim-eject hole so I was able to remove the tray.

Onto the Gevey. I put the Gevey and her SIM back into her phone and was able to make and receive calls before the signal would drop off. Then I just let the thing sit for about 30 minutes. After checking on the phone I realized it had the T-Mobile carrier on, which meant the phone had sustained service. It's been working ever since. Even after prolonged signal loss due to a low service area, she can regain service after a reboot. It's been about a week now.

    So...

    My 8gb 3G iPhone
    2.1 Jailbroken
    02.11.07 Baseband
    TurboSIM Solution
    T-Mobile USA
    SMS In/Out: OK
    Voice In/Out: OK
    EDGE: OK
    3G In/Out: NA

    Sister-in-Laws 8gb 3G iPhone
    2.1 Jailbroken
    02.11.07 Baseband
    3G Gevey SIM Solution
    T-Mobile USA
    SMS In/Out: OK
    Voice In/Out: OK
    EDGE: OK
    3G In/Out: NA

She is running on 2.1 on T-Mobile USA. The Gevey is gold and has the chip on the backside, so no need for cutting. I attached it with double-sided 3M tape and it is very secure. If the problem is resolved or anything changes, I will post up the results.

It's not yet on sale as far as I know. It's still being tested. It's not yet ready.

Just wanted to update on Virgin Test Result.

I have the high speed version.

I'm currently in Cambodia for vacation. Here's my test result.

    Country: Cambodia
    Carrier: qb
    3G Calls in/out: Yes
    3G SMS in/out: Yes
    3G Data: YES!!! 180kbps!!

Note: qb is a 3G ONLY network.

Quick question, does the iPhone support UMTS or HSDPA? Because on my nokia, it only supports UMTS, and I was using qb network on this phone. Then when I tried it on virgin-sim, to test on the iphone, i had no hope, because I thought iPhone was HSDPA only. Someone please verify. Thanks. Virgin-Sim rocks hard on 3G network!!

So far for me the normal speed virgin sim seems pretty ready. I've had nothing but a good experience with it so far. Calls, SMS, Data all work pretty damn good... actually there was an issue with incoming calls and sms... happened on and off for like 2 or 3 days... but now I cant seem to duplicate the problem since I started using one of the new samples. But its been going strong since the 3rd of the month. I was in the ER yesteday and was in a lot of dead zones and to recover signal when just stepping in and out was around 30 seconds maybe... when I was in a dead zone for over an hour it took around 2mins to regain signal. No reboot was required.
High speed virginsims seem to still need work. I have 7 of them and none of them have worked for me yet and Ive fumbled around with them quite a bit. Havent been able to test them on another 3G iPhone or with an older sim so I cant give conclusive evidence on what the problem could be yet. Wife just had a baby so I havent been in the loop with my friends whom which I could swap sims and phones with.

You can go to a T-Mobile store and ask them to test it with an old SIM card. For me, the red one works much better.

Getting a prototype working and mass producing it are very different things. A reliable means of production is needed.

Congratulations on the baby. Boy, Girl? Twins? I wonder if there is a jailbreak app that turns the iPhone into a baby radio monitor :-) hahah
