Restore with 1.1.2 OOB Turbo Sim - what to do?
Hi guys,
I have a 1.1.2 OOB working with Turbo Sim. My Problem ist, that my iphone crashes very often, so I want to restore it.
1st question: What will happen, if I click restore in iTunes (without DFU). Will the jailbreak be possible?
2nd question: If i decide to restore with DFU to 1.1.1 and than back to 1.1.2. Do I have to copy the Turbo Sim stuff to the iPhone again? I already configured the Turbo sim (with this tutorial http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthre...ghlight=Turbo= ) and it works beautifully with 1.1.2.
What do I have to do? Is the simple workaround enough?
Thanks for your tips,
regards iGreKey

Take the turbo sim out of our phone. Then click on restore in itunes. Then downgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbreak and install oktoprep to update to 1.1.2. After upgrading to 1.1.2, jailbreak 1.1.2 with jailbreak.jar and put your turbo sim with ur sim back in. ur ready to go!

Do you have summerboard installed on the phone? If so, goto the settings and set the 'Dim Wallpaper' to OFF. This fixes a lot of phones from crashing. Try it before you downgrade

Yes, thanks for the hint. I read this in another thread after I posted this one.
I uninstalled Summerboard an hour ago. No further crashes yet...

hi,
i have the same configuration: 1.1.2 ootb unlocked with turbosim.
i want to have a backup of the phone in a fresh jailbroken/unlocked status.
(described here: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...ghlight=backup)
i did not do a restore before.
will the phone be as virgin as it was when unboxing?
will the whole filesystem be erased completely when i click restore in itunes? root password will be back to alpine?
since i unlocked it with turbosim there won't be ANY trace of modifying the phone, right? the firmwares were not modified in any way?
(just asking for the case of a repair)
thx for help!
cheers!

Hm, I'm not sure with this either. I looked inside my phone and all this stuff like applesaft.trb is still on the iPhone.
Does anyone know, if the iPhone does use these "turbo-" files, or if they were only necesarry for the configuration of the turbo sim?
What would happen, if i delete these files?

you can delete the files! they are just needed to program the TS.
