The latest date we should wait before settling for a sim unlock, and cheap sim clones

I'm currently locked out with the 1.1.2 OTB, and was wondering when is the latest before we should look into alternative SIM methods? I know there's the $60 clone sims, or the $120 Turbo sim (ebay based price).

I figure if I get the $60 clone now, then the Turbo sim will be really cheap when the software unlock finally arrives, dropping it's price down to like $40 which should be a great time to jump on it in case future firmwares come out. Total would be $100.. not too shabby an idea, no? I'm also worried about Bladox Turbo sim, I last checked there web site and it said they were hit by a Tsunami... WTH? I wonder if there future updates are really gonna be there like they advertise.

they are probably rebuilding their stocks to a much higher level than last time they opened, so they dont have to shut down again after 40 minutes, but after 40 hours, LOL. as well, they actually DO celebrate xmas and newyears eve in Czech, so I guess they took some days off and will be back soon.

and as far as the sim solution is concerned your question should be in the sim solutions forum

and it depends on you how much you are willing to wait /spend/search/ gather info on these xsim solutions

i found a easy sim something for about 35 Pounds that works like a turbo sim .. so i guess you should do a bit of research before you actually go into buying off ebay..

the sim clone solution is about 8 euros

if found a cheap hypercard(dual) for $45
so they're all getting cheap! buy one

but for simcloning you need a programmer and when u update to 1.1.3 it isnt working anymore, isn't it?

One can buy the chinese pre progammed sims for under $50, like I did, and end the trauma of the 'itouch'.

I suggest you buy the sim proxy solution and start using the phone already. Because, as said here in the forums, apple has done a "good job" with 1.1.3 (1024 encryption etc) and the unlock may take "some time" (read long time).

Plus once 1.1.3 OTB comes after the Macworld '08 we will be have to bid activation and jailbreak goodbye too, atleast for some time. Maybe SIM proxies too...

BTW, my last date was: 01/01/2008. Like I said I bought a SIM solution and Boy am I glad?!

I suggest to wait until 15th of this month, wait and see if new iPhones are presented at the MacWorldExpo. If so, a new firmware will also most likely lie ahead, which wont mean that a software unlock will be available the other day. for me personally, turbosim was THE solution. no more waiting, no more worries.

got my hypercard for about 40 bux here in the u.s. and he ended up being local. now i can use the phone but when software unlock comes out im gonna sell my hypercard lol
