Double check your TSIM is making good physical contact with your SIM card and the phone socket.

No that wont be the problem, the AT commands are being sent to the iPhone internal serial port.

In order to get this working you will need to disable the communications centre process from a terminal or by editing the relevant plist to disable it before a reboot.

The plist method is well documented in several tutorials, mine included (search for muppets guide).

Thx for reply.;-) I do check this, also with a piece of paper to add more pressure to the contacts : no result!;-( Do you think, the T-SIM could be the reason/defect?

Nope the error you are seeing is occurring even before the TurboSIM sees the commands.

You can see it in the error message: Initialising Modem.

    Disable the comm center.

Getting the same error with a second iPhone, CommCenter is disabled, it doesn't work. Any hints? SIM is a T-Mobile N2 and it should work.

I gave it up, the ISA method doesn't work with my T-Mobile N2 SIM.
I went for Applesaft instead and it worked immediately.
    Strange thing.
I actually wanted to make it work with Vodafone (my main provider) but since
EDGE is the only highspeed data connection possible with the iPhone (with the exception of WiFi of course), I went for my second T-Mobile account.
I may activate a call forwarding to my regular Vodafone number, not cheap but I need to be reached all the time and I can't carry two phones with me.

I've seen a couple of ppl saying "check if comm center is disabled" when you see this error... in my experience, turbo apps say: /dev/baseband.tty: resource busy if commcenter hasnt been disabled...

    Same issue here.

With the modified plist (CommCenter supposedly disabled) I get the following error:

    -sh-3.2# turbo-info
    initializing modem
    AT+CPMS="SM","SM"
    ERROR
    AT+CMGF=0
    ERROR
    AT+CPMS?
    ERROR
    modem initiated
    Mobile Phone/Serial Cable Communication Error

With the original plist (CommCenter enabled) I get the expected error:

    /dev/baseband.tty: resource busy

This is on an iPhone running 1.0.0 firmware. Maybe it works under 1.0.1? Cant test that, because 1.0.2 has now been released, and I don't want to risk it yet.

Is there anyway of just updating to 1.0.1?
