a friend bought a uk 1.1.2, i have done the jailbreak/activation for him.
We have tested two different nextsims which claimed to work with uk phones:
If we enter the next sim with a very old, no longer active card it says Gesperrtes SIM (german means deactivated sim) this sim had a pin and the iphone also asked for it.
That should confirm that the nextsim is working, right?

If we test working cards, we dont get any error message, but it also shows no carrier and only one small dot in the signal bar.

Any idea whats wrong?

Tested it on 1.1.2 and jb 1.1.3 (also with the 1.1.2 baseband)

I have the same problem in Ukraine, Eastern Europe.

I have jailbroken/activated iPhone but haven't updated it to 1.1.2 from 1.1.1
and used the xxxSim clone called turbosim on ebay

Help needed

You don't need to use the *sim any more. Do an unlock with the geohot method (see iclarified), then use your sim normally without the 3GPP *sim. I think this will solve your problem.
