I have received news of the LATEST 2.2 baseband unlock from an official representative from S. Mobile whom creates the i-Smartphone unlock proxies. The update was finalized at 6:21AM GMT, and I have placed an order which should arrive in 3 days.

From the looks of it, this is the breakthrough we have been waiting for. The representative I have been working for has delivered realistic information regarding the stability of the unlock since the 2.0 unlock proxy.

As many of you may know, the i-Smartphone is one of the most stably proxies for 2.1 at the moment, and I have personally sold many to members of this community who have left nothing but good feedback. Please check out my other thread to see this, as I am completely honest.

Not only does 3G function finally work with the new 2.2 baseband, the signal reception is much more stable. You MAY lose signal from time to time, but this can be quickly resolved by resetting network settings or resetting your iPhone.

I was unaware of that devteam breakthrough for the iPhone 3G, but appreciate the news and applaud the efforts of the iPhone Devteam. The new method, which hasn't even been released to the public, only works with 2.11.07 baseband. So the thousands of people who have accidentally updated to 2.2 baseband are out of luck.

What will be done for these people?

I will be updating my iPhone to 2.2 via iTunes to personally test the reliability of this new method and will let the community know how successful it is.

Honestly, I doubt this works.

I dont trust iSmartphone SIM's at all.

I made the mistake or ordering one to even try out.
Died on me after 2 hours. Replacement died on me in 4 hours.

I wouldn't buy a iSmartphone SIM, EVAAAARRR AGAIN!

Anyway, the Dev Teams Unlock is almost here <3...
Im sure they'll get the 2.2 Upgraders out of a Soup as well. <3 Dev team...
