p9939068, are you malaysian? I bought an iPhone from ebay. when it arrives in KLIA, the custom hold the phone and ask me to pay for the tax. Have you overcome this problem? or any malaysians who had face this problem? Now my phone stuck in KLIA.

I went through the same thing. You'll gotta go over to the customs located next to Air Asia's terminal. They will say its a phone and you gotta get SIRIM's approval before they will release it to you. All bullshit. They are just waiting for your "Boleh tolong kah, Encik" which they will gladly reply, "Boleeeeeeeeeeeeh". You know the drill. How much "tax" depends on your acting skills and bargain power. Have fun with your iPhone. In the end, it's worth it.

    TurboSIM working - with caveats

    on MAXIS postpaid
    calls out - ok
    calls in - not possible
    SMS out - ok
    SMS in -ok
    Edge - ok

    on DIGI prepaid
    calls out - ok
    calls in - ok
    SMS out - ok
    SMS in - ok
Edge - still being activated at this stage (new prepaid account), but I think should work

Unsure why incoming calls on MAXIS fails. Some one suggested its the NOM protocol. Anyone having a notion of an idea?

p9939068 is a Singaporean, so it's quite easy for us.

Don't bother with TurboSIM, check out the http://www.iphonesimfree.com/ which is already verified by Engadget.

There are many ways to Fake Activate your iPhone. To keep things simple. Just download this easy OneClick software to do it. Visit http://www.pqdvd.net/iphone-unlock-toolkit.html After doing this, you can basically use your iPhone as an iPod and web surfing device.

I used this method when I first got my iPhone. Really simple. From there onwards, your next mission would be to choose a method to use your iPhone as a phone. We have a few choices here as well. But I went for TurboSim method. Problem is, I have not received my SIM yet from Votech. So I am not able to help you out.

Read up on all the Full Unlocking method. Then decide which u want to go with. Good luck.
