I have to jumpstart the sim using another phone, reboot iphone, etc.
Is there an activation process I'm missing? or this is just a piece of C

Thanks all!
i-smartphones are notorious for the inability to regain signal. If you get the gevey you wont encounter this problem. (Just be sure you get an authentic one that has the foilike packaging instead of the cardboard one.)

Use a Rebel SIM.
No SIM solution is perfect solution, but still NOT ALL cards are the same!

Rebel sim is not going to help you. I have the exact same problem as you describe and no solution is available at the moment

Just from the description... I can tell that you have been given the old version of i-smartphone.
I bet that it came in a black package with a big white padlock on the front and 'Sim Unlock Card, i-SMARTPHONE).
Well the bad news is you have been sold an out of date unlock, but the good news is the people at i-SMARTPHONE have corrected the flaw that you pointed out.
There are NO PROBLEMS with Signal loss on the new version of i-SMARTPHONE and I can assure you of this. The only downside is 3G does not work, but EDGE data does.
Kindest Regards,
KLP

i have the new i-smartphone 3G which youhave been raving about all over these forums. it worked for the first day, my phone went flat really fast (about 3 hours) and now when i turn it on it searches for 10 minutes then says no service, toggling airplane on off does nothing. i thought they worked perfectly(no signal loss)??

Sounds like you have an out of date or faulty turbo sim.
You should have emailed me and I would have sent you the latest version product as well as my personal guarantee that I will replace it if it were faulty.
Kind regards
